Beads are considered a basic accessory that any woman can afford, regardless of age and social status. In the broadest sense of the word, beads are stones, plastic elements or natural materials of various shapes strung on a thread, but most often round.

Story

People made the first beads 90 thousand years ago. Thus, on the territory of modern Israel, archaeologists found shells with special perforations, which today are considered the first semblance of jewelry. In addition, ancient people actively wore threads with fangs, claws or feathers of birds and animals around their necks.

In ancient times, the Egyptians wore glass beads, which were also a luxury item for the Romans. Such jewelry is still popular today. In this case, the beads are often blown, made from special tubes.

Beads became a real decoration, a luxurious piece of jewelry in the Middle Ages.At that time, precious stones, natural materials in the form of pearls and amber, as well as elements made of gold and silver were used for their production.

Beads have features that distinguish them from other types of jewelry:

• their main element is identical beads;
• this jewelry does not have any frame (unlike, for example, a necklace, where the parts are connected to each other using metal elements);
• All beads are strung on a regular thread, but not on a chain.

Today there are many varieties of this decoration; each woman will find an option suitable for any situation. For example, beads differ in the material they are made from. The most common beads you can find are:

• pearls;
• glass;
• amber;
• metals (usually precious);
• wood;
• plastic;
• natural and artificial stones;
• corals and mollusk shells.

The thread on which the beads are strung also varies. Most often, silk or synthetic thread or fishing line is used for such purposes. Depending on the length, the following options are distinguished:

1. Collar (“collar”). These are short beads, the length of which does not exceed 30-35 cm. They fit the neck and look great with a cocktail or evening dress. It is important that the neckline area is seductively open.
2. Choker. The option is a little longer: the thread size is 35-40 cm. Obviously, such beads also “sit” quite tightly on the neck. A choker is a more casual option that can be combined with both a blouse and a shirt (it is important that the top buttons are undone).
3. Princess.The classic version, the length of the thread here varies from 43 to 48 cm. These beads can be combined with any neckline. Plus, they look great with a narrow turtleneck.
4. Matine, whose length is 50-60 cm. A very unusual name means “morning”, but matine look most advantageous with an evening dress.
5. Opera. A thread with a length of 66 to 91 cm is magnificent in an ensemble with a narrow long dress. This option is suitable for special occasions, responsible and important ceremonies.
6. Rope (translated from English this word means “rope”) These are interesting beads, the length of which is 120-180 cm. They look quite bold, even avant-garde, and therefore should be combined with modest, chaste outfits.
