- ruler;
- pencil;

- pins;
- needle (sewing machine);
- thread (color should match the color of the fabric);
- fabric of the corresponding color.
It is necessary to give preference to fabrics for stripes that have a long-lasting color.
How to sew on a strip correctly so as not to ruin a karate belt?
Having prepared everything you need for work, you can start sewing.
- First, cut a rectangle from a piece of prepared woven fabric. Its width should be 20 mm and length 110 mm.The length of the strip is determined by the width of the belt; it should be twice the width, plus 0.5 cm of margin.
- Then bend the rectangle, reducing its width by half. To fix the bend, iron the part.
- After completing the preparation of the part, you can begin preparing the base. To do this, take the belt and mark with a pencil 10 cm from the edge, drawing a line along the width. This is the line along which the strip will be sewn.
- Place the ironed strip on the line and secure with pins. Start sewing. It is better to do this with a sewing machine, but in extreme cases you can sew the seam by hand.
Pins will help immobilize the sewn element, preventing it from moving during sewing. When sewing a part by hand, stick to the edge, so the seam will be more even.
