All women love beautiful dresses and blouses. Modern fashion gives us many opportunities to look stylish: there are countless styles of clothing in stores.
Many girls are familiar with the problem when you find the dress of your dreams among many others, but here’s the problem: the deep neckline on the back does not allow you to wear underwear under it. And so we wander around the departments, trying to choose an outfit to match the bra. In this article we will tell you how to easily hide your underwear under open clothes.
Ways to hide a bra under clothes
In fact, hiding a bra under chic but revealing clothes is not that difficult. Of course, it would be ideal to purchase an “invisible” bra, which can be:
- with a large neckline especially for deep necklines on clothes;
- with transparent back;
- in the form of silicone breast pads.
If you don’t have a ready-made option at hand, but you need to hide the bodice, you can use methods proven by many women. All of them are quite simple and do not require any special materials.
Using a paper clip
This method is great if you need to wear a racer style top where the back is only partially covered but the shoulders are very exposed at the back.. The straps in the normal position will show on the sides, which makes the look more cheap and sloppy.
To solve this problem, take a regular paper clip and secure the straps together in the middle of the back. The straps will still provide good bust support, but they won't be visible under your tank top or dress.
Advice! Instead of a paper clip, you can use a special device that can be purchased in the women's underwear department. This is a small plastic clamp, the principle of operation of which is practically no different from that described.
Sew on an elastic band
If your dress has a completely open back, then you will like this method. It takes a little more preparation time, but it's worth it. To create a “design” you will need:
- regular underwear elastic about 2–3 cm wide;
- hooks, like a bra (you can buy them at sewing or lingerie stores. They are usually used to open up the girth of a bra, but we use them in our own way). You can simply cut off the clasp from the old bust;
- needle and thread.
Sew one part of the fastener to one end of the elastic band, and the other to the other, first wrapping it around the waist to determine the length. Attach one end to one part of the bra, then wrap the elastic around your waist and attach the other end to the other part. Using the slider, lengthen the straps at the back and pull the bra from the back to your waist, as in the picture. Thanks to the elastic band, it will hold in the best possible way.
Secure with pins, buttons
If the neckline on your favorite blouse is boat-shaped, then the bra straps most often peek out treacherously. They can be attached to the edges of the gate using two methods:
- simply attach the straps to the blouse using very small pins;
- sew fasteners with buttons. Their essence is that small loops are made at the edges of the collar with buttons at the ends, where the bodice straps are attached and no longer look out. This method is more convenient because the buttons are unlikely to come undone, unlike a pin, which can prick.
Secure with straps
If you need to wear a dress without sleeves and straps, that is, with a completely open top, then it is better to choose a bandeau bra under it. Another option is to simply unhook the straps, but then another problem arises: the bra does not fit well on the chest. In this case, it can be secured using the removed strap. Just unfasten it from the front only and wrap it under your chest, then hook it on the other side. Now your bra won't accidentally fall out from under your dress.
