Every girl understands how individual and special a wardrobe item a bra is. This important accessory must meet all the girl’s preferences and requirements! Very often a situation arises in which choosing a large size bra for large breasts becomes a very difficult task.
You have to spend a lot of time searching for a suitable bra, but you can’t be sure that the search will be successful.
Or you can take care of yourself and sew your own bra. Today we're going to talk about how to make a pattern and then make this piece of lingerie yourself!
Constructing a pattern
Large breasts require special treatment. Therefore, making a large volume bra has its own characteristics.
What to consider when getting started
To create a pattern, several specific factors should be taken into account.
- Individual characteristics of the female figure. Lingerie should support the breasts well and create a pleasant appearance.
- Age. It is better to refuse provocative colors of fabric and additional vulgar elements of linen if this does not suit your spirit and age.
- Terms of use of outerwear. Consider the load on the linen when drawing up a pattern. This will help you choose a bra for your specific wearing needs.
What measurements are needed
The measurements that need to be taken from a woman are limited to two parameters.
- Underbust circumference.
- Chest circumference (largest value).
These measurements will be sufficient.
IMPORTANT! The measurement must be taken twice: with a deep inhalation and exhalation. And then use the average measurement value.
Constructing a pattern
After taking measurements, you can develop a pattern yourself (based on the finished product) or use the help of the Internet.
The first option is preferable, it is more practical and allows you to take into account more individual features.
To construct a drawing using the first method, you will need a bra of suitable size, which must be cut into its component parts.
The pattern of each part is transferred to paper, the parts are cut out. If necessary, you can make adjustments to the size. The advantage of this painstaking method is that you can make a pattern of the model that is most convenient to use.
The second option involves the use of ready-made blanks, which can be adjusted to your size. This will speed up the pattern making process.
Sewing a bra
- The process begins with marking the fabric and cutting out the parts. A standard bra consists of cups, a base and supporting elements (straps).
- The cups are sewn like hemispheres. They may contain a leveling component, which will give the bust the desired appearance.
- The base is similar to sewing a top with the presence of cups. An elastic band can be sewn into the base, which will secure this wardrobe item.
- Support elements are applied from the front edge of the product, over the shoulder and to the back. Special fasteners and even buttons can be sewn onto them.
Advice. Observe the following order of connecting parts. Start with the base, then the cups, leaving the straps for the final stage of the process.
Add, if they are present in your idea, additional decorative elements.
