Plus, creating clothes for your child is a fun activity. Let's analyze the pattern and sew step by step beautiful models for my daughter.

Suitable material for girls of different ages

Children's underwear, including panties, is made from natural fabrics or mixed fabrics, in which the share of synthetic fibers does not exceed 5-10%. Moreover, fabrics with a small admixture of artificial fibers hold their shape better and do not wrinkle.

Most often used:

Kulirka. Up to 100% pure cotton, but up to 5% lycra makes it more pliable. Thin knitted fabric stretches across the cross-section, but practically does not change in the longitudinal direction. Breathable, hygroscopic.

Care: no special features, general recommendations for cotton. Do not bleach colored items.

Interlock. High-density knitted fabric, knitted into an elastic band.Used for sewing insulated panties for the cold season.

Care: Gentle wash at 40 degrees, do not bleach, do not dry in the sun. You can iron it.

Ribana. Elastic, pliable fabric with small stripes formed on the surface. Widely used for sewing panties, T-shirts, and T-shirts. Also produced with the addition of up to 5% lycra.

Care: Temperature about 30 degrees, gentle spin, dry in fresh air. Ironing is normal.

Bamboo fiber. It is not considered completely natural, since chemical processing is used in its production. However, it is used for linen, including children's. Excellent color rendering, does not fade or fade. Soft, does not rub the skin, hygroscopic.

Care: Gentle wash, spin. Ironing is not advisable.

Advice! Children's underwear can be made from good quality T-shirts; children grow up quickly, T-shirts do not have time to wear out, so it is easy to use them for underpants.

What do you need for sewing?

It is better to prepare the necessary tools in advance:

cotton fabric;
wide or decorative elastic band;
matching threads;
sewing machine.

Advice! It is recommended to process all sections of linen using an overlocker or a sewing machine, which has the function of a cover seam and gentle processing of sections. Seams made on a regular machine are rougher, but can also be used.

Making a pattern for children's panties

Option 1 - drawing

We need only one measurement - hip circumference, or rather half-circumference (PHG). This is the circumference of the hips divided by two.

Then you need:

On a sheet of paper we build a rectangle ABVG, where the values AG = BV are equal to POB / 2 + 10 cm.
AB=VG are equal to POB/2 +4cm.

We trace the half of the panties onto a thick sheet of paper, first the front, then the back onto another sheet.

We bend the sheet and cut out complete patterns.

We determine the size of the gusset by eye and measure it.

Progress:
