Required measurements
To make children's boxers you It is necessary to measure the waist and hip circumference of the child. It is not difficult. Wrap the measuring tape around the thinnest part of your waist and the fullest part of your butt. This way you will get the measurements you need.
Making a pattern
- Draw a rectangle ABCD. One of its sides is equal to a quarter of the hip circumference according to the measurements taken + 4 cm for an allowance for all sizes. This is side AB. And the other is equal to a quarter of the hip circumference + 10 cm for all sizes. This is the BC side.
- Divide the length AD of the resulting rectangle in half. From the top we draw a line to the place where the middle of the length is obtained. This will be the side line panties.
- Next we draw lower front cutout products. To do this, from vertex C (lower right corner) we put 5 cm to the left. We connect the resulting point (hereinafter point 5) with the lower side point with a dotted line.
- Divide the dotted line in half. We measure 3 cm from its center at an angle of 90°. Draw a line for the lower neckline of the panties along the pattern, as in the figure. Side AB will become the waist of the front half of the product.
- For waist back panties from top B, measure up 2 cm. Connect the resulting point with top A of the rectangle.
- Next, measure 1 cm upward from the center on the dotted line. Drawing from the place where side AD is divided through the resulting point above the dotted line and point 5, we get the lower cutout of the back half of the panties.
Sewing children's boxers
It is best to sew panties for children from natural fabric with minimal content. 
synthetics. Cotton with elastane, viscose or soft knitwear are suitable for this.
- We cut out all parts of the product. Front - 1 pc. with fold, back - 1 pc. with a fold.
IMPORTANT! When cutting, add 0.5 cm seam allowances to the resulting pattern. We make allowances for the cutouts of the legs and top of 1 cm.
- We baste and then sew the side seams.
- We will sew the cutouts for the legs and the top of the panties with an overlocker.
- Fold the seam allowance along the top by 1.5 cm, making a “drawstring” for the elastic.It is important to leave room to thread the elastic through.
ADVICE! You can also sew ready-made cotton elastic bands 1–1.5 cm wide to the leg openings. Then the allowances need to be cut off.
- If you don’t have an overlocker, a regular sewing machine will do the job. Then the process will take a little longer. First we sew with a regular stitch, and then we process the edges, simulating an overlock stitch.
ADVICE! To make the stitching even and neat, place water-soluble interlining or tracing paper in the seam.
