Why? Store-bought ones may not be the right size, they are very expensive, the quality often leaves much to be desired, and you may not always be able to find an envelope in the color and finish you want. Given these disadvantages, young mothers often resort to making their own envelopes.

How to sew a fur envelope for a stroller

In fact, sewing an envelope into a stroller is not very difficult. It is quite within the power of a beginning craftswoman. Taking into account our recommendations, you will definitely cope with the task.

Such products are sewn from 3 layers: external, internal and insulation.

In the master class we will look at sewing a transformable envelope, which is very convenient for kids. It can be used as an envelope and as a mattress. The pattern of the envelope for the stroller is not needed for this model. There will be no waste either. Everything will work out.

What to prepare:

• Material for sewing jackets (basic), desired colors - 60 cm with a width of 150;
• Insulation: holofiber – 50 cm with a width of 150;
• Faux fur – 50 cm with a width of 150;
• Three detachable snakes: 2 pcs. — 55–60 cm and 1 pc. — 25–30 centimeters;

The pattern of the product will be replaced by a diagram indicating the dimensions.

• We build a rectangle with sides 50 cm x 150 cm.
• From below we rise 60 cm up and draw a transverse line - this is the fold line of the envelope.
• Draw dotted lines vertically along the length of the entire rectangle, dividing the envelope into 4 parts - these will be the lines quilting the envelope fabric.
• We outline the places where the snakes will be sewn: 2 on the sides - above and below the fold line of the envelope; one is at the top, on both sides of the center, for the hood.

Let's start the master class:

1. From the main material we cut a strip of 10x150 cm for ties.
2. We quilt the main fabric with holofiber - putting 12 centimeters from the center in each direction (2 times). We make one line at the edge, retreating one centimeter. Other quilting options can be done.
3. We take a short detachable zipper and sew it to the top part where the hood will be. We start sewing from the center, retreating 1.5 centimeters and not reaching the edges by two centimeters. If the snake is too long, cut it and sew it in.
4. At the level of the snake, we attach faux fur at the top of the envelope.
5. Stepping back 1.5 centimeters from the fold line of the envelope, we sew in the side snakes. We do everything in the same way as when sewing in the hood snake.
6. Let's start making the ties.

We cut off 50 centimeters from the prepared piece - for edging the edges.

We cut the remaining 100 cm into 2 strips of 5 centimeters wide: one will tie the envelope, and we cut the other in half by 50 centimeters - for the hood ties.

We remove the ties.

1. Sew the ties on the inside of the hat.
2. We attach faux fur to the sides of the hat.
3. We release the ties to the front side and sew the fur along the entire contour of the envelope, leaving the lower narrow part unsewn.
4. We turn the product onto the face and sew along the edge, retreating two centimeters from it.
5. We make the edging of the transverse part - sew on a strip of the main material and hem it so that you can insert the tie.

Our warm envelope is ready.
