Hats

The history of the appearance of hats is directly related to the evolution of mankind and goes back several thousand years. Modern fashion experts claim that there are only two options for hats - a hat (with and without brim) and a cap. And everything else is just their derivatives. Such derivatives include a bandana, cap, Panama hat, hood, military cap, earflap hat and many other options.

headwear - hat

The French hatmaker Antoine Gibus created a folding version of the top hat - a cap-hat, or a slap-hat! During the same period, women's fashion was complemented by a bonnet - a headdress that was something between a cap and a hat. Later, the French fashion designer and lover of using elements of men's wardrobe in women's clothes, Coco Chanel, began to increasingly appear at shows wearing an elegant straw hat, which cemented the fashion for this accessory for almost 70 years.

Soon the ladies adopted the men's love of top hats: the female version of the described headdress was covered with colored silk.

Today, fashion has changed a lot again; elegant hats with wide brims have been replaced by Panama hats, which are mainly used on the beach. Men's top hats were replaced by hats and caps; exquisite beauty and sophistication were replaced by simplicity and functionality.
