A hat is a headdress whose main function is to retain heat in the head area. But I want to have a hat that is not only warm, but also fashionable, and most importantly, that it suits your face. In order to decide which style you need to choose, let's briefly recall them.
What styles of hats are there?
There are a huge number of models that are worn at different times of the year, matching them to a certain type of face and clothing. You can examine the styles in detail by conditionally combining them into groups.
Tight-fitting
These styles are perfect for everyday looks, go well with sportswear, and look good with classic coats and even luxurious fur coats. Usually this hats made from knitted fabric or knitted from yarn, machine knitted or hand-knitted:
- beanie - the model fits the head quite tightly, often equipped with a lapel. The yarn used is thin, so the models are classified as demi-season clothing. For winter wear, the hats are sewn with a fleece lining.This is the most popular style of headdress for both men and women. The trend of recent years is the combination of a women's beanie with a veil;
- sock - resembles the previous style, but has a more elongated size. They wear it either “upright” or form folds from the free volume at the back. It is made from yarn of different thicknesses: a hat-sock made from thin acrylic or wool is good, but it is no less interesting when made from thick threads. This style also exists in a fur version, knitted from yarn and thin strips of mink;
- stockings and caps are varieties of a “sock” style hat, differing from it in a longer length, sometimes going down to the shoulders. Elongated models end with a tassel or pompom. All of these head-fitting hats will easily fit into any casual look you create, but are most suitable for youth ensembles;
- with a pompom - a very popular style of knitted hat with a fluffy addition of wool or fur. It can be knitted with a large elastic band, braids, arans, other relief patterns, with jacquard weave of threads.
Important! A small, tight-fitting hat is not recommended for chubby girls, and a long cap will not complement an elongated face type.
Fashionable
Every year, changing fashion offers us new styles. Some take root and stay for many years, others leave the arena after a year or two. This year we continue to wear the following models:
- hood, hood - knitted in the form of a thick woolen cap, can serve not only as a headdress, but also as a stylish scarf. Knitted, fur, fleece, knitted models are trending;
- snood, collar, pipe - put on the head, will warm the shoulders, and laid out on top of the coat will play the role of a stylish accessory.Easy transformation from a scarf to a hat and back ensures leadership positions for several years in a row;
- Ushanka - a fur or combined warm winter model with folded side parts is now at the peak of popularity among women and men. In recent years it has been worn with loose, drooping ears. Interesting women's knitted earflaps with imitation fur from elongated woolen threads;
- papakha, boyarka - a classic version of a winter headdress made of fur. They are sewn from mink, sable, arctic fox, fox, astrakhan sheepskin, astrakhan fur. The high-crowned style suits both women and men, everyone makes you look slimmer and makes you keep your back straight;
- A cloche is a deep felt hat with small bell-shaped brim. This is a very stylish accessory, but difficult to tie into an everyday look. The classic version of the hat has not yet become widespread, but the crocheted version is becoming more common;
- beret - this style has not gone out of fashion for many years. For women it has become a traditional headdress, and for men it looks very stylish and even brutal. There are two types of beret - with and without a rim, but in any solution it remains a universal model that can be combined with the vast majority of things in the wardrobe;
- cap, cap, baseball cap - a distinctive feature of the headdress is the visor, which can be different: from very tiny to long. Women's versions are often decorated with rhinestones, embroidery, while unisex ones are decorated with rivets, stripes, and printed inscriptions.
Important! The fashion for earflaps has spread far beyond Russia. She can be seen both on the Parisian catwalks and in the Harlem ghetto.
Children's
For each age you need to choose your own style, although many of them are considered universal. Most often, children choose a regular knitted hat with a pompom and ear ties, but models with tied ears sticking out at the top, like those of a cat or a mouse, are also popular, or fluffy pompoms are placed in this place. Many hats are embroidered with designs reminiscent of animal faces. Other models that can warm the baby are also popular:
- helmet;
- budenovka;
- earflaps;
- hood;
- beanie.
Important! The warmest hats are made from natural or faux fur lined with fleece, and are also made from raincoat fabric with an inner layer of eco-fur.
Men's
It is very difficult to find styles that women would not borrow into their wardrobe. Initially, a beanie, earflaps, a hat, and a cap were intended for the stronger sex, but now all these hats have no gender. These are unisex styles - for both sexes. They can differ only in details in the form of applied or embroidered flowers and a brighter color of the material for women.
However, some styles are most widespread only among men:
- cap - a model with a hard visor, a dense, stable band and a voluminous rounded crown. The cutting features work to protect the upper part of the head from both overheating and hypothermia;
- military cap - in appearance it resembles the caps of soldiers fighting in hot countries. It has a long visor that perfectly covers the face from the sun and a round flat bottom, due to which air circulates in the free space and prevents the head from overheating;
- Finnish - the style resembles a deep winter cap made of fur with a lowered back plate that hides and protects the ears, back of the head, and neck from bad weather;
- bomber is a style for a stylish youth hat made of fur, which is very similar to earflaps, but differs in cut: there is no round part on the bottom.Dropped ears make it possible to confuse a bomber jacket with an aviation helmet;
- budenovka - originally a military headdress in the form of a cloth helmet with a sharp cone and lowering parts in front and behind to cover the forehead, neck, back of the head and ears. In recent years, young men have paid attention to it as a practical, interesting model for casual style. Such hats are sewn from knitwear, fleece, felted loden or knitted from wool yarn.
