You always want to look good – both in the heat and in the cold. With low temperatures outside most of the year, you need to dress warmly, but you also want to be stylish. Hats have long gone from being an ordinary insulating accessory to a fashionable accent of the image. And a huge number of styles have been invented, made in different techniques and in any colors.
How to put on a hat correctly?
How to deal with these hats, how to wear them to be fashionable and stylish, and not funny or ridiculous. Before choosing the right model, read our tips.
Sock
The sock hat has been one of the trendy headwear for the cold season for several years now. So called because of its elongated shape. Both women and men wear it. The universal style suits almost everyone, but a person with a thin or long face should opt for a shortened version.
Women wear socks in different ways. We offer several options:
- let your hair down, put on a hat and tuck the strands under it, leaving a few curls near the face on both sides;
- Those with a wide forehead are advised to cover it almost completely with a headdress or raise the toe a couple of centimeters above the eyebrow line;
- try putting on the accessory as usual, and then lower it slightly at the back of the head;
- secure it to the top of your head (you can use hairpins), demonstrating to others the beauty of your hair. In this case, the hat will actually go down onto the neck like a sock, and the shortened version will stick up, which is especially important in youth fashion;
- put on the headdress, straighten the free end well and fold it back;
- form several folds from the knitted fabric on the back of the head, tuck the remaining tip under the bottom behind the edge or up behind the lapel;
- put the hat on with the free part on one side. Slight asymmetry will add its own zest to the image;
- distribute the straightened upper part evenly on both sides and on the back of the head, leaving a tight fit over the forehead;
- put on a headdress, make one deep fold in the back, hide the tip under the bottom edge at the back of the head.
Important! This style is very suitable for owners of long hair, who are recommended to leave it loose and distribute it on both sides. The bangs are also released from under the headdress.
Men also put on a sock in a similar way, folding its free edge in different ways from the back, from the side, or leaving it sticking out at the top. The hat is pulled down over the eyebrows or raised up.
Beanie
This style is the brother of the sock. Now voluminous options are at the peak of popularity, but hats with pompoms and tight-fitting ones are also worn.
How to wear a beanie for girls:
- the classic model hides the ears and forehead, the bangs are hidden under the hat;
- A single turn up of the cuff of the headdress will insulate the ear area and help you look stylish.;
- you can put a beanie on the top of your head so that it sticks out a little or move it back;
- the hair is left loose and distributed on the sides or braided, collected in a low ponytail like a horse.
Men choose simple beanie styles and wear them like this:
- the hat is pulled completely over the forehead or opens it with part of the hairstyle;
- a single turn of the cuff of the headdress is done;
- you can fold the edge of the cap up twice;
- Recently, beanies are often pulled up like hipster hats.
hat
Women wear a fedora hat straight or slightly tilted to the side or forward. You can’t leave it on the back of your head or cling to the top of your head.. A derby with a straight visor is worn only straight, hiding the forehead. Wide-brimmed options are worn straight or shifted back, to the side.
Men wear their hat straight, tilting it slightly forward or slightly tilted to the side. Some young people look good with a small-brimmed hat or bowler on the back of their head.
Important! No matter how the hat is worn, a man must remove it indoors. Raising it when greeting acquaintances is good manners, and it will not harm anyone.
Ushanka
Another trend of this season - a hat with ears - has ceased to be a male prerogative. Now it is a unisex accessory. Both girls and boys wear it with their ears down and untied.. The only exceptions are fur hats associated with professional activities, the folding parts of which are connected by ties at the top.
How to combine a hat and bangs?
Avoid models that are too tight: they compress the forehead, smooth out and electrify the bangs, spoil the styling and can leave marks from elastic bands or cuffs.
Beanie hats or socks are worn with bangs pulled out from under them and the headdress placed straight or to one side. If you decide to wear a hat or earflaps, your bangs need to be hidden. With these hats, the bangs should be kept down: the hat requires an open forehead, and the bangs will visually make the face appear smaller. The style of the earflaps itself will hide the bangs, as it has a fairly deep fit.
