How to knit a budenovka for a boy: step-by-step description
A very cute model of Budenovka - for children under one year old. Knit only in two threads, since the stockinette pattern is not so thick.
To work you will need:
- yarn 200 g for children;
- knitting needles number 3.
The work used the basic patterns for the Budenovka hat. This is garter stitch and stockinette stitch. Work begins from the ears and further to the crown.
Stage: ears
Cast on 7 stitches with knitting needles and start knitting in garter stitch - 49 rows in total. Make increments through a row of two loops. Tie two ears like this and put them aside for now.
Stage: foundation
Cast on the missing loops for the hat, depending on the circumference of the head, and knit with the connections of the ears in place approximately 4.5 cm. Knit with the same garter stitch.
Stage: crown
Switch to stockinette stitch, continue knitting in the round and start decreasing for the crown. Decrease 4 stitches in every second row. Alternate places to avoid creating a deep furrow. There will be 10 loops left and knit a small tail. Next, close the loops and hide the thread.

Knitting a traditional budenovka for a boy
This model is close to real Budenovkas. It is made in green and decorated with a red star. Boys love her for her beauty, mothers for her warmth.
To work you will need:
- green children's yarn 200–300 g;
- knitting needles number 3.
Stage: ears
The product begins with the eyelet. For it you need to cast on 10 loops and knit with an elastic band 1*1. You will get a very similar pattern with stockinette stitch. Knit 50 rows with additions, increase through 2 rows of 2 loops at the beginning and end of the row. Make the second ear symmetrical.
Stage: visor
A 1*1 elastic pattern is also used for the visor. For it you will need to cast on 20 loops and make small additions of 2-3 loops. Knit 2-3 cm and connect the ears, visor and missing loops (using a new set at the back).
Stage: foundation
Knit circular rows without changes in stockinette stitch to a height of 16 rows.
Stage: crown
Next, knit also in the circle, but decrease in 4 places to create deep furrows and wedges. Do this in each place: knit two loops together twice. Knit until you run out of stitches. There will be 4 loops left and bind them off. The result will be a small ponytail.
Stage: decoration
