Longsleeve with the Queen of England

More than 40 years ago, artist Jamie Reid from Britain created a portrait of Elizabeth II in an oval frame. The highlight of the image was a large pin, which pierced the upper lip of a royal person. The miniature was created specifically for the Sex Pistols album.

However, Westwood at that time was the common-law wife of the manager of a musical group. She liked the idea and soon the queen’s portrait began to appear on her snow-white long sleeve. After some time, such a thing appeared on sale in her company store SEX.

Liberating corsets

In the 90s of the last century, the designer revised the concept of constraining corsets. She created a new spring-summer collection in which this wardrobe item was designed not to constrain the body, but to liberate it as much as possible. Original prints and images of famous sculptures were used on the products. Now corsets from the Vivienne Westwood brand are on display in the British Museum.

Suit "with a big butt"

The bright outfit in a classic style with a tartan print was decorated with a voluminous pad on the buttocks. Vivien presented several variations in the Oh Liberty collection in 1994. Fashion experts consider this image Westwood's loudest statement on the topic of female sexuality. We argue that it is extravagant, but worth the viewer’s close attention.

T-shirt with breasts

Another extremely sexy outfit from Vivien. Plain white T-shirts were embellished with a print of a woman's breasts. This is one of the cult things within punk music, as well as another loud statement on the topic of female feminism.

She sold widely at the Westwood boutique on King's Road. Members of the famous Sex Pistols also appeared wearing T-shirts many times.

This pair of shoes isn't just notable for its striking looks, although there is a lot to see there. Stylish model, high platform of 13 cm and lacing made of satin ribbons that covered the girl’s ankle.

There is a big story connected with the shoes, the main character of which was the black model Naomi Campbell. On display as part of the Anglomania show presented in 1993, the girl fell from the platform right on the podium. And most importantly, she managed not to lose contracts after the fiasco. On the contrary, the girl began to be more often invited to participate in shows and asked that she accidentally fall, drawing attention to the show.

The image of a warrior princess

In the final part of the fall-winter 2020 collection, model Bella Hadid struck the audience in the heart with an outfit from Vivienne Westwood. Queen of Punk (with husband) created a snow-white lace dress that symbolizes a clear balance between femininity and belligerence.

The silhouette of the outfit and luxurious puffed sleeves indicated tenderness and femininity. And the sheath attached to her waist and Bella’s bare chest brought back memories of 19th century duelists who fought half naked. This indicates strength and resilience.
