Sandals

Sandals are the ideal option for women's summer shoes. They got their name from the expression “to put on bare feet.” They consist of a sole and one or more straps that are secured to the foot.

Story

The history of sandals directly depends on the history of their ancestors - sandals. The first sandals appeared in the prehistoric period: ancient people quickly realized that walking on damp earth or sand with bare feet was unpleasant and painful. The first shoes that mankind invented were thin soles made of hay, reeds or reeds. And several leather or natural ropes secured it to the foot.

In the 7th-6th centuries BC, independent girls of free morals lived in Greece - hetaeras. They were beautiful, educated, and even then they understood that sexy women's shoes always attract men. It was hetaeras who were the first to come up with the idea of decorating their sandals and asked shoemakers to drive sharp blades into the sole of their shoes so that a “follow me” mark would remain in the sand!

Several centuries later, in Ancient Egypt, shoes began to be made from leather.Pharaohs and nobles could afford to decorate their sandals with gold ornaments and precious stones. Their sandals were attached to the foot with four or five straps, and the sandals of the serfs were secured with one strap.

In Israel, sandals were made from wool or cane, in Russia from felt, Asian peoples used wood, and the Spaniards used braid.

In the Middle Ages, it became indecent to wear such open shoes, so sandals of that time were replaced by more closed shoes, and sandals returned only in the middle of the 20th century.

The variety of modern shoes is simply amazing. Even such a seemingly primitive model as sandals can surprise with the variety of materials, colors and designs. However, few people think about the functional qualities of modern products.

First of all, such shoes do not allow the foot to overheat, which is very useful. The fixed straps can be tightened independently, as much as is comfortable, so as not to pinch the blood flow.

For example, classic flat sandals will allow you to feel confident and comfortable anywhere. The foot is very comfortable in such shoes; even with long walking, the foot is in an ideal position, and the person does not experience fatigue. In addition, the flat sole is ideal for car ladies: in such shoes, driving a car will be easy and simple.

Wedge (platform) sandals are the most popular option among modern women. Their main advantage is the uniform distribution of the load on the entire foot, which allows the foot to get tired less and is safe from a health point of view.In addition, the platform is often made from a special material, which, when the feet are loaded, creates a shock-absorbing effect, protecting the legs from overload. Sandals with soles were the traditional shoes of Japanese geishas, but, unfortunately, their wedge heels were extremely high and uncomfortable, this was done so that the girls could only move in tiny steps.

Sandals with heels or stilettos certainly look very sexy, visually lengthen your legs and make them slimmer, but in terms of functional qualities they are significantly inferior to the previous options. It is noteworthy that the first square-heeled sandals appeared thanks to the Italian designer Salvatore Ferragamo, who created the heel.
