The processing method is not suitable for regular use; you may damage your shoes. But as a one-time procedure or once a week, it is acceptable.
You will need:
- 40% vinegar essence;
- cotton pad or cotton wool;
- plastic bag or container.
Remove the insoles and wipe both sides with a disc soaked in vinegar. Put them in place, and leave a piece of copiously moistened cotton wool in the toe part of the boot. Seal the pair airtight in a bag or container and leave for 24-48 hours. Then ventilate until the specific odor disappears.

The rules for working, as with vinegar essence, are gloves, washing the skin if the product comes into contact. The processing algorithm is the same: wipe the insole and leave a moistened disc in the toe area. You just need to keep it in the bag for up to 1 day.
Important! Using any of the methods listed in this article, keep the shoe bag warm. At elevated temperatures, the antifungal properties become stronger.
Formidron is effective in combating fungus and its consequence - an unpleasant odor. After the procedure, a specific aroma of the drug remains, but it quickly disappears.
Miramistin
You will need a 0.1% Miramistin solution, a container with a spray bottle or a cotton pad. Wipe the insole and laces separately. Then treat the inside of the shoes and leave to dry. You can dry the pair with ultraviolet light, this will enhance the effect.
The product is suitable for daily disinfection and does not harm shoes. You will need a lot of it throughout the course of treatment, so the downside is the cost of Miramistin. But if you compare it with the price of special antifungal agents, then the minus turns into a plus.

Fungal spores can live at low temperatures and dry air for 11–12 months. In such conditions they will not reproduce, but if the boots are placed in a favorable environment - humidity and warmth, the fungus will immediately awaken.
