Deserts

The word "desert" translated from English means "desert". Incredibly, special lace-up boots with a suede upper and leather (in some cases rubber) soles are called so unusually today. They look stylish and make your look especially fashionable and elegant.

Story

Deserts are an exact copy of boots that were made for English soldiers who served in the deserts of Egypt. Probably their name came from those times. The Egyptians sewed such boots by hand, and therefore made them exclusively from natural materials. In addition, such shoes were light and thin, so that the feet were not hot during the day and not cold at night.

However, mass production of deserts began only in the middle of the twentieth century. At that time, the American Nathan Clark released these boots under the Clarks brand and presented them at an exhibition in Chicago in 1950.

Deserts remained a popular shoe until the 1970s. For more than 20 years, they have been worn by representatives of different subcultures, as well as by many famous personalities, such as members of The Beatles, Steve McQueen, Bob Dylan.

Until the 1990s, deserters were not mentioned. However, at the end of the twentieth century they became fashionable again, but now among Europeans. Since then, these boots have not left the first lines of the fashion charts.

Peculiarities

Deserts look like chukka boots, however, they are considered to be their type. The main feature of these boots is their flat sole and simple cut. A small (no more than 1-2 cm) wide heel is allowed. If in the twentieth century they were worn exclusively by men, today such shoes are popular among women. In general, modern deserts are considered unisex boots with which you can create original and fashionable everyday looks.

For example, a combination of desert boots and ankle-length jeans looks very modest but stylish. You can complement the look with a short jacket or short coat.

An interesting option is a combination with classic trousers and a jacket. In this case, it is worth choosing desert shoes in calm colors so that the shoes do not take away attention from the entire image, but harmoniously complement it. The ensemble can be complemented with a shirt, but the trousers should be straight and slightly tight.

The standard option is deserts in black, gray or brown. However, among modern fashionistas, shades that are very unusual for such formal boots are also popular. Thus, there are known models in red, burgundy, green, blue or pink. Of course, all other details of the image when choosing such shoes need to be thought through especially carefully: it is important to make the ensemble stylish, and not tasteless.

High-quality deserts are incredibly comfortable. They are light, do not rub your feet and provide excellent support. If previously rubber was often used for the sole, today it has been replaced by rubber and other synthetic materials. These shoes are intended for use in warm early autumn or late spring; they are also good for cool summers. Deserts look great both on a bare foot and with a sock. For girls, an interesting option is to wear insulated tights, thanks to which the look becomes cozy, ideal for long walks.
