Very often, wet boots can cause colds. Indeed, in rainy weather, even high-quality shoes cannot independently cope with moisture protection. That is why it is important to use high-quality water-repellent impregnation. But, unfortunately, products from well-known manufacturers are quite expensive. Therefore, not everyone will decide to purchase such a product. In this article we will tell you in detail how you can make waterproof shoes at home with your own hands.
Three folk ways
1 way
- Take paraffin candles and use pliers to pull out the wicks.
- Then grate the candles on a fine grater to help us you will need 60 grams of paraffin.
- Then melt the paraffin in a water bath and add 150 g of drying oil to it, and then 80 g rubber glue.
- Next, the mixture must be carefully moved. We do this until the product becomes homogeneous.
- Remove the mixture from the water bath and pour it into a clean plastic bottle.
- Add 80 g of castor oil and the same amount of turpentine to the bottle.
- Now all that remains is to screw on the cap and shake the bottle thoroughly. Hydrophobic impregnation for shoes is ready.
Using a sponge, the product must be applied from the outside; the sole must also be treated. Then shoes need to be dried thoroughly during the day, after this your boots will not be exposed to any moisture!
Attention! The impregnation is flammable, so it must be stored in a cool, dark place. Preferably as far as possible from open sources of fire.
Method 2
- Take wax candle and rub your shoes well with it.
- Using a hairdryer, warm the surface of the boots well. The wax will melt and soak into the surface.
- Then rub the shoes again with a candle and warm them up with a hairdryer again.
- Finally, warm up the boots and polish them with a clean cotton cloth.
Huge The advantage of this method is that the procedure can be completed in 8 minutes. And shoes can be used immediately after treatment.
Important! We do not recommend using candles with glitter or dyes. This will not only ruin the appearance of the shoes, but can also damage their surface.
3 way
