Incredibly, we didn’t know about comfortable and practical Crocs until 2002. Today, these versatile summer shoes are good for walking to the beach, as well as for active recreation and work in the fresh air. Crocs are slippers made of a special material and look like clogs. An open heel and perforations in the toe ensure good breathability of the feet.
So, the American company Crocs was founded in 2002 by three enterprising young people: Scott Simons, George Bodecker and Lyndon Hanson. Initially, these brave guys were united by one hobby - sailing.
However, their very useful hobby was overshadowed by a small problem - they could not find the ideal shoes for this activity. They clearly understood that they needed light, comfortable shoes in which the foot would breathe. Ordinary flip-flops were not particularly suitable for sailing, since the foot flew out of them at the most crucial moment. The option with textile sneakers was also unnecessary - the fabric quickly got wet. So one day the friends decided to create the perfect shoes themselves.
The young people quickly found a factory in Canada that produced the material they needed (it was based on foamed resin). It did not get wet, did not require special care, could be used for a long time and provided comfort to the feet. The young people quickly produced the first batch of 200 pairs and took them to a boat exhibition in Florida. The premiere of Crocs there was more than successful: all products were sold out in just a few hours.
After some time, these shoes began to be purchased not only by water sports enthusiasts, but also by housewives, students and beach tourists.
In 2004, the newly created Crocs company, which was doing quite well, was able to buy out the same company from Canada that supplies material for the shoes produced by young people. It was then that they named him crosslite. Today he is a kind of “trick” of Crocs.
Nowadays, Crocs representative offices are open in different parts of the world, and the shoes they produce are still in demand among customers. Today the company is not limited to the production of clogs. From under her machines come ballet flats, boots and even sneakers (in total more than 5 million pairs of shoes per year). Crocs also produces accessories: suitcases, bags, sunglasses and watches.
The word “crocs” translated from English sounds like “crocodile”. These shoes look a little awkward, even funny, but manufacturers consider this feature not a drawback, but a highlight, so the design of Crocs has remained virtually unchanged since their appearance. Even ballet flats and sneakers have the same rounded toes and bright colors.
The crosslite material is unique. It is often confused with rubber, although it has nothing in common with it.So, crosslite is completely natural, it is more durable and takes the shape of the foot when worn in hot weather. Crocs are worn on bare feet, as they do not rub, even if they fit quite tightly. In addition, the feet do not sweat in them, and the skin breathes.
These shoes are considered orthopedic. Therefore, it is recommended for people who suffer from joint diseases or have to spend a lot of time on their feet. In the United States, Crocs are considered part of the medical uniform.
