Red moccasins are a strong accent that, if handled skillfully, can complement and favorably present an ensemble that, in general, cannot be called flashy. At the same time, such shoes have their own history. If you don’t know it or don’t take it into account, you can make a mistake and form a tandem with undesirable associations.
What types of red moccasins are there?
Distinctive features of various types of moccasins:
- Material. Traditional models are made of suede. The sole of the canonical version is made of genuine leather. In addition to the classics, there are products whose upper parts are made of leather, faux leather and textiles, and the soles are made of rubber and polyurethane.
- Seasonality.Summer and winter options are offered, which differ from each other in the decorative part, lining (insulated models have fur that helps protect the feet from hypothermia), perforation (holes for natural reasons are not provided in winter moccasins), heel part (summer shoes have a heel altogether may be beveled or absent altogether).
- Color. Moccasins in bright colors add dynamism to the look, while dark and deep ones look more noble.
- Decor. The front can be decorated with rope, braiding, stitching, straps, ribbons, crystals, suede bow, inserts, buckles and bars. The traditional version comes with seams and a bow or only seams.
Also there are products addressed to car enthusiasts. Instead of a textured or ribbed sole, such shoes have a sole with rubber spikes that prevent the foot from slipping off the pedal. In general, such shoes are very comfortable, provide the most intimate contact with the pedals and indirectly increase the level of safety of the vehicle driver.
Features of combining red moccasins with clothes
They look good with wardrobe items in styles: casual, eco, folk, country. Examples of such things:
- jeans of varying degrees of tapering (the color can be any, including gray, black, dark blue, light blue, white);
- T-shirt, tank top, top, jumper, straight cut or slightly fitted;
- shorts, breeches;
- sleeveless shirt;
- bomber jacket;
- a wide sweater or one that falls off the shoulders, a knitted or simply voluminous sweater made of dense materials;
- shirt (primarily with short sleeves);
- cropped tapered trousers (primarily white);
- plain colored trousers with turn-ups.
Important! Scarlet moccasins look good with a dress, shirt, top and T-shirt with black and white stripes. It would not be superfluous to complement these types of tops with white trousers.
The above options are relevant for women. Men, on the contrary, should rely on the restraint of the bow (especially its upper part). Feel free to wear a plain long-sleeved shirt, vest, trousers, or jacket with burgundy moccasins. Let things be neutral, classic or muted tones. A print on them is undesirable, but as a last resort, you can opt for a two-color checkered pattern or another extremely conservative classic pattern.
Important! If you take restraint as the basis for your image, then catchy and very bright shoes will fit perfectly into the look and become an accent within its framework. The set will begin to resemble an ensemble, compiled in accordance with the traditions of Spanish men's fashion.
What can't they be worn with?
Styles into which red moccasins do not fit well:
- businesslike (the rule applies only to women; men can afford such a bright nuance in their look);
- erotic;
- linen;
- vamp;
- garcon.
Having excluded clothing of the specified styles, proceed to the assessment of red moccasins by society. It just so happens that many Russians associate these shoes with certain circles, and to be more precise, with people of Caucasian nationality. A stable mental connection arose because people from the southern republics for a long time universally wore bright burgundy moccasins with jeans and leather jackets. That is why, If you do not want to be mistaken for someone you are not and at the same time have taste, do not combine red flat shoes with a leather jacket and trousers made of blue or black denimA.
To avoid unnecessary associations and theatricality, be careful about the process of choosing accessories. A red belt definitely won't work. This is the prerogative of hot Caucasians, whose clichéd image must be disowned by all means. Suspenders in acidic shades or crazy prints should also be excluded. Combined with red shoes, they will turn you into a stereotypical fairground clown.
Important! The only acceptable scarlet accessory is a pocket square.
White socks are banned, and all thanks to the same Caucasians. If you don’t know what to replace them with, then stop at flesh-colored hosiery products. For example, on beige footwear or nylon socks, non-shiny, without a pattern and as close in shade as possible to the natural skin tone on the legs. In this case, the rule “the simpler the better” works.
Important! Moccasins can and should even be worn on bare feet. This method is much more aesthetically pleasing than wearing colored or, especially, white socks.
Top 5 examples of what to wear with such shoes
- White skinny trousers, a top with black and white horizontal stripes, a long jacket in a dark blue shade or a short trench coat to match the shoes. You can do without the last item.
- Black leather tight-fitting trousers, a wide scarlet sweater, a blue coat (not too long), a hat.
- Short (but not mini) fabric shorts in a bright shade, a very simple T-shirt or top, a men's hat.
- Green short trousers with a turn up, a pale yellow loose jacket made of flowy light fabric (the item should not be tight, it should fit loosely). The ensemble is a base, each element of which is replaceable. The main thing is that the bottom and top are summer, bright, monochromatic and harmonious in color with each other and with the shoes.
- Shorts, checkered shirt, white T-shirt, wifi glasses.
