Many representatives of the fair half of humanity, especially those who are actively searching, strive to look attractive and sexy. They use everything that, in their opinion, attracts men's gaze: accessories, clothes and shoes.
What's sexier: over the knee boots or over the knee boots?
Before answering this question, let’s remember when they appeared in women’s wardrobes and trace their fate.
A little history
Even in Ancient Greece, women's legs were decorated with low, elegant boots made of thin leather, and Byzantine young ladies wore stocking boots with pleasure. In Rus', merchants and landowners put morocco boots on their wives and daughters. Since the 20th century, these shoes have become the most popular. From autumn to spring, almost all representatives of the “weaker” sex wear it.
Over the knee boots were originally worn by male cavalrymen, and only in the 18th century did women begin to slowly “master” them. During hunting and traveling on horseback, they kept warm and protected their clothes from dirt.Their fan, as well as military uniforms in general, was the Russian Empress with an iron character - Catherine II.
Only at the end of the first millennium did boots begin to be associated not with convenience and practicality, but with beauty and sexuality. They soon became an attribute of the sexual revolution. French film star Brigitte Bardot was one of the first to try them on on the set with a miniskirt. And thanks to the heroine of Julia Roberts from “Pretty Woman” in the 90s, their popularity increased exponentially.
How are they different these days?
Length is the only thing that determines the name. You can find knee-high boots and over the knee boots with the same:
- width and shape of the boot;
- sole;
- heel;
- decor.
At the same time, both of them can be both damn seductive and turn their mistress into “her boyfriend” without the slightest hint of sexuality.
The most "exciting" and asexual models
Men consider boots or over the knee boots made of soft material (thin leather or suede) with elegant heels to be the most attractive. They beautifully fit the leg, emphasizing all its advantages, and look as feminine as possible.
In the case of boots, you need to be more careful, since they themselves are a powerful weapon of mass male destruction. The fine line between sexy and promiscuous is easy to break. It is enough to put on stiletto boots, an ultra-short skirt, a top and “spice up” the look with bright evening makeup.
Both knee-high boots and over the knee boots will not evoke trembling feelings if they:
- with a boot that is too wide;
- on a wide or massive sole;
- They look like army boots.
In this case, there is a risk of hearing behind your back something like: “Madam, where did you lose your horse?”, “Good fishing!”, “Who are we at the carnival today, Puss in Boots?”
And yet, what is more attractive to men?
Just a couple of decades ago, boots in their eyes were more often associated with girls of “easy virtue.” Nevertheless, time passes, gradually destroying existing stereotypes and prejudices. Nowadays, many young people, not burdened with an inferiority complex, prefer to see boots on their chosen one, but under certain conditions:
- if they emphasize femininity;
- if they really suit her and don’t turn her into a fisherman or a musketeer.
Ideas about sexuality in modern society vary greatly. What some consider provocative is normal for others. And emancipation is doing its dirty work: women are increasingly giving preference to personal comfort. They do not consider it necessary to wear seductive high-heeled shoes, which are often difficult to put on and take off. By dressing stylishly but comfortably, it is quite possible to meet a “soul mate” - a representative of the opposite sex who will accept you as you are: even in boots, boots, or combat boots.
