Sheepskin is one of the best natural materials in leather production. This is an incredibly warm and wear-resistant material. However, in order to preserve the attractive appearance of a sheepskin product longer, you need to know about the intricacies of caring for it.
Features of the material
It has healing properties, the material has a density to retain heat. It has a natural smell, this is the main difference from the substitute. In warm weather, the material prevents your feet from sweating.
Branded sheepskin shoes have a number of derived qualities that are important for functionality, not just aesthetics. It has the property of not getting wet, even when walking on wet snow or slush.
How to clean
Not all products are equally effective and gentle on sheepskin.
You can clean it:
- Bread crumb. For fair skin, use white bread, and for dark skin tones, use black or rye bread.
HELP: Do not wet the bread crumb, but lightly rub it into the skin and then brush it off with a brush.
- Stationery eraser. The eraser should be soft to the touch.If it is hard, then when cleaning, significant dirty streaks may remain.
- A special brush for suede. The brush should not have hard bristles so as not to scratch the material.
- A velor cloth. Gives the skin its original appearance. Clean with circular movements and do not press too hard on the skin.
All these devices are great for helping to cope with cleaning problems: dirt, dust, stains.
Removing stains
Grease stains are removed using: chalk, talc or starch. Sprinkle on the greasy stain and leave the shoes in a cool place for 6 hours, then remove with a suede brush.
ATTENTION: It is better to remove stains as soon as they are discovered. When neglected, oily stains tend to be absorbed into the skin and spread.
Salt stains, in the form of dried white circular stains, are removed with lemon juice. Wet a piece of rag and wipe the salt circles, then simply dry the shoes.
For rough, dried stains, pre-moisten with plain water, and after 10 minutes apply a solution: 10 ml of ammonia and 30 ml of skim milk. Dampen a cotton swab and blot the stains. Then after 20 minutes blot with a dry cloth and dry.
Is it possible to wash, wash
- You can wash your ugg boots only with a wrung-out sponge without soap or chemicals. But after several movements, we recommend rinsing the sponge thoroughly under running water, then wringing it out and continuing to wash the shoes. The exception is those formulations that do not contain chemicals.
- It is not recommended to wash ugg boots made of natural sheepskin in a washing machine, otherwise the appearance will be lost and you can simply throw them away. But you can wash it by hand, but carefully. The water temperature should not exceed 30 degrees.
WARNING: It is not recommended to use large amounts of water when cleaning.
What is sheepskin afraid of?
Natural sheepskin cannot be wetted; it is afraid of water getting in and loses its heat properties. Therefore, after getting completely wet, this type of shoe will not provide adequate warmth in the cold season, which means that your feet will constantly freeze. Sheepskin is afraid of constant moisture and improper drying.
Care Tips
- To begin with, when the ugg boots are still new, we recommend treating them with a special spray composition suitable for the material. This will make it possible to last at least more than one season.
- Before cleaning, be sure to thoroughly dry your shoes naturally.
ATTENTION: It is prohibited to use: hair dryers and drying devices, batteries; these actions can deform the skin, which will lose its own softness properties and creases will appear.
- Dirt and dust must be removed only using dry methods.
HELP: Natural sheepskin should not be rubbed too hard with a brush. Movements from top to bottom. And please do not use sharp, pointed objects, as this may leave deep cuts.
- After wearing, be sure to dry your shoes away from sunlight. When exposed to bright light, fur tends to fade. After returning from the street, put crumpled newspaper inside your shoes, this will speed up the drying process. This means that in the morning your shoes will be ready for the next wear.
