UGG pattern for kids

Brown ugg boots for babyKids, like adults, need comfortable, practical shoes. UGG boots meet these requirements.

What are UGG boots?

Uggs are traditional shoes made from sheep's fur. Their homeland is Australia.

Historically, they were sewn from whole skins - with the fur on the inside and the suede part on the outside. In such shoes it is not cold in winter and not hot in summer, the temperature is maintained equal to body temperature.

What are UGG boots made of?

Children's ugg boots made of warm fabricIn addition to sheepskin, the most common material for ugg boots, they use:

  • Faux fur, suede.
  • Leather and leather substitutes.
  • Thick knitwear.
  • Felt.
  • Knitted fabric.

Advice! If you have an old sheepskin coat, it will make boots for the whole family.

Features of UGG boots

Since this type of shoe is very comfortable, there is a temptation to wear only them, every day, all day.

But you need to remember a few things:

  • Ugg boots do not have a heel, their sole is absolutely flat, and wearing them all day is problematic.
  • Shoes made of natural sheepskin wear out a lot, make sure that your baby's gait is firm.

Subtleties of working with sheepskin

High-quality sheepskins are not much more difficult to work with than fabric.

The main thing is precision in work and durable tools:

  • The cutting is carried out along the suede side, using disappearing chalk, a ballpoint pen or a soft pencil.
  • They first find all the worn, thin places on the skin and try to avoid them.
  • The sheepskin is cut with a sharp stationery knife or razor blade, preferably in the air, cutting through only the flesh, leaving the fur pile untouched.
  • It is better not to rip sheepskin and not to put unnecessary seams on it. For this reason, it is better to refuse to estimate the details.
  • Old Singer machines, as well as Soviet machines, such as Podolsk, do an excellent job with thick skins. We use a needle No. 120, or a special triangular needle for leather.
  • Leather and suede specialists recommend a Teflon-coated machine foot, and folk craftsmen recommend sewing on thin paper placed on top of the sheepskin. The running of the machine will be smooth and the stitches will be neat.

Children's ankle boots are made from sheepskin, with the fur placed on the inside. The pattern is approximate and universal, but the proportions are respected. We measure the length of the child’s foot, and accordingly, we attach the sizes of other parts. Using this pattern you can sew ankle boots from sizes 20 to 38.
