It is the ability to tie a belt in different ways that gives flights of fancy and the basis for different looks.

How to tie a belt on trousers beautifully

There are more than 10 ways to tie a belt and style an old item with these knots. A knot can be not only a decorative element, but also have some hidden benefit, for example, visual correction of the figure or banal support for large trousers.

ADVICE! A knot with an end hanging down along the leg visually stretches and slims the silhouette - this is a feature of vertical lines.

Tying a belt on trousers is not always easy, but it is always beautiful. With the help of one detail, you can decorate your waist with a voluminous flower, rose or bow. And all this from the belt.

A little about models with such belts

Those trousers where such an accessory is appropriate are sold along with it.

Current styles are available in different models, and among them there was a place for trousers with a belt.

IMPORTANT! Modern trousers have a high or high rise. The current length for narrow models is 7/8.

If you have low-rise tapered trousers in your closet, they're in good condition and you want to keep wearing them, style them the right way. Hide the low rise under a long top, sweater or shirt. Adjust the length by tucking them so that the ankle is visible or slightly higher.

The material of the trousers is also important. Choose models with 2-5% elastane in the composition, then the item will last you longer. And don't be afraid of synthetics - 20-30% polyester will extend the life of your trousers. Such fabrics do not wrinkle much, unlike natural ones.

Current styles of trousers with a belt:

  • palazzo - wide trousers. If you select the wrong volume, you can visually shorten yourself by several centimeters. The shorter the height, the narrower the trouser legs should be and vice versa. But don't confuse skinny palazzos with tapered or straight trousers;
  • riding breeches or bananas - trousers with tucks at the waist and hips. They add volume and curve to the hips, so they are good for narrow hips. They also look good on plus size girls - they just look tighter. The legs taper towards the bottom and have creases;
  • culottes are shortened wide trousers. They look unusual and emphasize the elegance of the calf and ankle.They will add zest, especially to summer looks;
  • trousers with patch pockets or cargo - there are models as close as possible to military men's, and there are more relaxed or wide ones - these include a model with a belt.

REFERENCE! Patch pockets are a trend for 2019. They are relevant in any type of clothing - sundresses, pants, jackets.

5 ways to tie a beautiful tie

ADVICE! It’s easier to learn how to tie any knot if you don’t do it on yourself. Learn to tie on someone else or a dummy. A table leg or other object that can be tied can help you. Another option is to sit on a chair and tie the belt around your thigh.

Our top five opens with a bow knot:

  • tie a regular knot - place the left end of the belt on the right and thread it into the hole from below, tighten;
  • Align the left end, which is at the top. Bend the right one in half at the base and place it at a right angle from below under the left end to form a horizontal loop;
  • With the left, free end, wrap the loop once from below;
  • at this stage, a vertical loop is formed at the base of the left end, which came out at the top. Place your thumb and index finger through this loop and grab the left end that hangs from the horizontal loop. Pull it through the vertical loop;

take the horizontal loop in your hand and tighten the loops to create a bow.

ADVICE! To ensure that the free edges of the bow are the same, tie a knot so that the left end is longer.

An unfinished knot forms a vertical line that elongates the silhouette. Looks good on a not too long belt, looks slightly casual, suitable for everyday looks. The technology is simple:

  • place the right end of the belt on the left;
  • pass it up into the resulting loop;
  • pull the right end up and the left end down.

The ascot knot will also elongate the silhouette, but it does not look as careless as an unfinished one. Therefore, it is suitable for business images. It's simple to do and looks elegant:

  • the beginning is the same as before - tie an unfinished knot so that the right end is at the top;
  • bend the top end at a right angle to the right. There will be a hole at the base of the knot;
  • pull the left part from below the end of the right, and insert it into the hole. Tighten and straighten the ends.

The Biedermeier knot is suitable for wide belts with dense fabric. One part of it will be longer than the other, and it is performed like this:

  • place the left part on the right and tie an unfinished knot;
  • place the lower part on top to form a loop;
  • pull the top part through the loop and tighten the knot.

IMPORTANT! To prevent the Biedermeier knot from losing its texture, straighten it as shown in the picture. This is difficult to do with flowing fabric.
Biedermeier

For flowing fabric, a simple bow, familiar to us from childhood, is suitable - this is the way we were taught to tie shoelaces. It is suitable if you are in a hurry:

  • make an incomplete knot;
  • fold both ends in half and tie them as usual.

regular bow

The described methods are most suitable for trousers. After all, voluminous flowers or double bows look better on shape-holding belts that are found on dresses and coats. In addition, such methods do not provide for freely hanging ends, and this is of no use to us.
