Trousers are one of the most common items of clothing. Some models are made from wrinkle-resistant fabric. Wrinkled pants look sloppy and sloppy, so you need to avoid this. How to properly pack trousers so that they don’t get wrinkled in a closet or suitcase, we’ll figure it out in this article.
Storage
In the closet it is best to store pants on special hangers with clips. There are two types: with horizontal strips and regular clothespins. The first option is used for classic models with an arrow, the second - for products made of thick fabric. A special method is used that provides maximum protection: fold the legs evenly, place them with pockets down and clamp them at the bottom with a suitable device. It is IMPORTANT that the cabinet is of the appropriate length. Another option is a standard hanger with a horizontal bar through which the pants are “thrown over” and divided in half. In this case, there is a high risk of creases forming. In the case of soft horizontal division, they can be avoided.
Folding into a suitcase or chest of drawers
There are two techniques: folding and twisting. For classic models and products made from wrinkled fabric, it is better not to use the second method, as they will certainly develop unwanted creases and a lot of folds. Cotton trousers are also preferable to fold.
First, you need to carefully iron the product before placing it in your suitcase, so that they can be used immediately.
1 way: lay the pants out on a flat and hard horizontal plane (floor, tabletop). Align the fabric, remove excess folds and folds. Fold the item in half: place one of the legs on the other so that all their seams match. The bend must be located above the seam, exactly in the middle. Eliminate any wrinkles or creases in the fabric. If your pants have a fold in the middle, fold them along that seam to maintain it. Fold the product again: vertically in half. Take the bottom edges of the pant legs and lift them towards the top, towards the waistband. Smooth out wrinkles and curves again. Run your hand over the surface to completely remove them. Take the clothes by the edges and fold them in half again. This way, folds are formed only on the knees and hips. This method minimizes the formation of new fabric irregularities, creases and folds.
2 technique: twisting.
It is IMPORTANT to know for which products this method can be used. Products that wrinkle less than others or can be worn slightly wrinkled are suitable: jeans, sweatpants. Twisting is possible for the following products:
- Trousers made of thick denim, jeans.
- Sweatpants, shorts.
- Shorts.
- Tight trousers.
The method allows you to save space in your suitcase: a rolled item takes up much less space.
Instructions:
Lay the pants out on a hard, horizontal surface and smooth out any wrinkles with your hands. Fold the product horizontally in half, placing one pant leg on top of the other. The seam location should coincide with the bend location. Smooth the item with your hands. Then, using your fingers, not very tightly twist the pants along the trajectory: from the bottom to the waist. Melodics is similar to rolling up a roll or sleeping bag.
Adviсe:
- make sure that the fabric does not wrinkle, hold it with your hands, smooth it out;
- do not twist too tightly;
- Place rolled items at the bottom of the suitcase.
Errors:
- Do not fold clothes directly after ironing: allow the fabric to cool. Hot items are more prone to wrinkles;
- use specialized cases and bags for clothes;
- Don’t put your dress pants at the bottom of your suitcase, as they will definitely get wrinkled. Place them last to ensure safety.
