Trousers are a basic part of any wardrobe. In the standard version, they are outerwear for the lower part of the body (from the waist to the feet) with a fastened fly. However, modern trousers have long ceased to meet any standards. Only their cut with two legs is preserved, and everything else is designer fantasies and fashion trends.
Important! The word “trousers” is borrowed from the Turkic peoples (“broek”). Its synonyms are “pants”, “trousers”. The latter name is considered Old Russian and was used in the territory of Rus', and then in Tsarist Russia.
The first wool pants are 3,000 years old. They were discovered by archaeologists during excavations of an ancient burial place in Yanghai (modern China). It is also known that the ancient Greeks and Egyptians did not wear trousers, considering such clothing to be barbaric.
The East is considered the official place of origin of trousers. In the 4th century BC in Persia (the territory of modern Iran), riders wore wide trousers, thanks to which riding did not cause discomfort to the legs.
