A person has thought about this question at least once in his life, not everyone, of course, but the one who had to stroke these arrows. Young housewives have to spend a lot of nerves while they learn how to iron this element of trousers, while men may not even be able to cope with such a job.
Maybe that's why they were invented?
After washing, the material of the trousers not only becomes cleaner, but also shrinks a little, this is especially noticeable in problem areas - where the material stretches when worn, mainly on the knees. Carefully ironed trousers with sharp creases look almost like new.
Arrows on trousers are a tribute to fashion and a sign of good taste
Has anyone tried to smooth out the material and completely remove the arrows, or at least imagine what they will look like after that? It will be difficult to imagine this even for people with a developed imagination. Strict models in our minds cannot exist without such an important element as arrows. Without arrows, only sweatpants or jeans can be worn.
Reference! All this is true, but with one main caveat - no one invented creases for trousers; they appeared regardless of the wishes of fashion designers and tailors.
Not so long ago, just a couple of centuries ago, pants began to be produced in factories in large quantities. Cutting and sewing were carried out on a massive scale, and in order for the finished products not to take up much space in the warehouse, they were packed tightly. Fabric is a lightweight material, but takes up a lot of volume. During transportation, and the main mode of transport then was sea communication, the hold had to be tightly packed, in which space was limited.
They tried to compress the bales with tightly stuffed trousers even more in order to take away more goods at a time. Naturally, upon arrival at the destination, and then sailing to another continent, for example, to America, could take many months, no one could smooth out the wrinkles on the pressed pants.
Attention! The creases on trousers are the result of a technical revolution in clothing production; during mass production, finished products were folded and pressed into bales for compactness.
Pants with arrows quickly became fashionable. It was simply impossible to smooth out the resulting wrinkles on the product, and no one tried to do this. The fashionistas of those years specially smoothed the creases on their trousers and everyone around them thought that in front of them was a wealthy man - wearing new pants every day!
This is what makes PANTS different from Pants.
