We sew a robe for overweight people in just an hour

You look at a beautifully sewn item, and you really want to have one for yourself. It’s not always possible to buy it, but you can sew it if you want. Moreover, many products are made on the basis of simple patterns.

As a pattern, you can use your favorite robe and rip it apart at the seams. A simple pattern can be made directly on the fabric, marking the desired dimensions. They begin to learn by smell using simple dressing gowns.

Choosing a nice fabric

robe-dress in the style of a men's shirtA robe-dress in the style of a men's shirt looks beautiful. The fabric must be chosen accordingly. The model is slightly wider at the bottom, there is a wide sleeve to the elbow, a row of buttons to the bottom of the product and, of course, the highlight - a men's collar.

You can choose the lightest and simplest fabric; cotton is good in the summer when it’s hot; you can take colored or plain.

Making a simple pattern

robe dressEven a novice dressmaker can handle this kind of work:

  1. Lay out the fabric on the table, measure out two rectangles with sides 150 cm and 90 cm, cut them out, and connect them with the right sides inward.
  2. We take measurements - chest circumference.
  3. Down the center of the fabric, measure a quarter of the measurement plus 5 cm and draw a line.
  4. We set aside 30 cm from the top edge down, draw a line to the center, make a slight rounding, in this place it turns out to be the armhole of the sleeve.
  5. From this point downwards with a slight expansion we draw a line, which gives the width of the product.
  6. We cut along the line, leaving 1.5-2 cm for the seams. We cut the shelf in the middle, mark the depth of the neck with chalk, and cut off the excess fabric.

All that remains is to sew the shoulder seams and then the side seams.

The pattern for your collar can be any collar of a men's shirt. Make a pattern on paper, cut it out and transfer it to fabric. The collar consists of two parts. Sew them together, turn them onto the face, and sew them to the neck of the product.

Sew: voila, the robe is ready

If you are making a product with buttons, make loops on one shelf and sew buttons on the other. You can complement the look with a wide belt.

How to sew a simple wrap robe

We sew a robe for crumpets in an hour

To work you will need:

  • a piece of fabric equal to the length of the product, 3-4 cm for allowances, width - 160 cm;
  • threads;
  • scissors;
  • see tape and ruler;
  • sewing pins, needle - if you sew by hand;
  • sewing machine - if available.

We will sew from a rectangle. One side is equal to the length of the robe, the other the chest circumference plus 30 cm for the smell.

You need to fold the fabric in half lengthwise and mark the center with a pin. Lay the canvas on the table, fold the edges towards the center. We mark 7 cm from the pin in different directions with chalk, we get a cut for the neck.From the edge at a slight angle we cut the fabric to the mark: these will be the shoulders, they need to be sewn up by hand or stitched on a machine.

We make the sleeves. We take a rectangular piece of fabric, the width as desired, for example, 40 cm. We measure the length of the arm, cut the fabric 10 cm shorter, the sleeves will have cuffs, sew them together and apply them to the base. On the shelves we cut out a recess for the armhole along the width of the sleeve and sew it on. We attach cuffs to the sleeves.

Neck. You need to cut the corners on the neck to determine the depth. Along the entire length of the product, in a circle, we sew a strip of fabric 8-10 cm wide. It turns out like a collar going down to the shelves to the bottom of the product.

Belt. Belt width 10-15 cm, length 150-180 cm. The wider the belt, the better.

The robe can also be made without sleeves, it will be even faster and easier.
