Every year, with the onset of autumn, various themed matinees are organized in kindergartens dedicated to this beautiful time of year.
The autumn ball is considered one of the most favorite matinees for kids..
For this event, you can make many different original costumes for the autumn festival.
Looks for the autumn ball
It is not necessary to purchase an expensive fancy dress costume in a store.
You can create a spectacular, memorable outfit for the autumn ball with your own hands using adhesive tape, thread and a stapler.
For this You can successfully use readily available materials (fabric, ribbons, colored paper, dry autumn leaves, pine cones, acorns and dried rowan berries).
"Queen of Autumn"
A beautiful dress would be the perfect outfit for this look. First you need to decide on the style.
Such a dress should not be too open or very short.
The best option would be a lush long model with rich trim and numerous decorative elements.
To make such an outfit, you will need:
- a long elegant dress that matches the color (yellow, orange or brown);
- colored paper;
- dry autumn leaves;
- green felt;
- threads
Progress:
- When the appropriate dress is not available, you can get by with a fluffy tutu skirt made of tulle in the appropriate color. This product can be easily sewn in 1 hour without a sewing machine. For this purpose, you need to cut strips of the required length 10-15 cm wide from tulle and attach each piece with a knot to a wide elastic band, which will act as a belt.
- Decorate a dress (or skirt) with cut out colored paper or dried autumn leaves.
- Make a crown from felt or colored paper of a suitable color. An alternative option is to use a leaf wreath. It's quite simple to build. To do this, you need to tear off the petioles from the leaves, then put the leaves on top of each other in the form of a strip and fasten them together with the help of the petioles.
Advice! Instead of a wreath or crown, you can simply make a beautiful hairstyle by decorating your hair with leaves and dried flowers.
Vegetables
Pumpkin costume
To create such an outfit you will need a dress or raglan (if the suit is intended for a boy).
The pumpkin costume is made as follows:
You need to sew wide knee-length breeches from thin orange satin and linen elastic.
Make a blouse (or shirt) from a fabric of a darker, richer shade with a fluffy collar and cuffs.
Decorate the top and bottom of the suit with bright stripes and ribbons in contrasting shades.
Make a round orange hat with a tail, tied with cords so that it looks like a pumpkin.
Tomato costume
A bright and spectacular option for an autumn ball.
To to make a similar outfit, you need to prepare:
- a pair of red jersey T-shirts (one size suitable for the child, and the next one a couple of sizes larger);
- green felt;
- threads of matching colors;
- filler (sintepon).
Progress:
- The larger T-shirt should be turned inside out and sewn along the hemline to the smaller T-shirt, gathering the material slightly as needed.
- Turn the large item back inside out and cut off the sleeves. The sections need to be folded inward and sewn to the hem of the sleeves of the smaller product, forming folds in the process.
- Fill the area between the products with padding polyester or other similar material. The end result should be a torso.
- Make leaves and a collar out of felt. Then sew the leaves to the collar, and then the collar to the neck of the resulting body.
- Make a headdress from the cut off sleeve of a T-shirt. To do this, you should tighten one of the sections of the sleeve with a thread and sew a sheet of felt to the pulled part.
Mushroom costume
This outfit suits for different age groups. It includes a turtleneck, shirtfront, pants and headdress.
To make it you will need:
- wide-brimmed hat with straight brim and braid inside;
- brown fabric (0.6 m);
- white knitted fabric (0.5 m);
- proclamelin (as an alternative, you can use white calico);
- padding polyester (0.8 m);
- white and brown threads.
Progress:
- Place the hat on a brown cloth and trace around the edge with chalk. Draw a new one around the resulting circle, adding 8-10 cm around the circumference, after which it needs to be cut out. This will be the top part of the mushroom cap.
- Place the hat on a white cloth, outline the contours and draw a circle, adding 3-4 cm around the circumference. Then the circle needs to be cut out. This is the bottom part of the cap.
- Turn the hat over, place a circle of light fabric on it and use chalk to outline the hole for the head, adding 3-5 cm to the hem. Cut a hole.
- Loosen the padding polyester and cover the hat with it, including the edges. This is a blank for a hat.
- Cut out a circle from the proclamelin that is 10-15 cm larger than the finished piece. Cover the hat with this circle, aligning its center with the center of the hat. Secure the circle with pins on the padding polyester, pinning it to the edges of the hat. Then turn the hat over and lay a thin layer of padding on the back side of the brim.
- Secure a circle of proclamelin from the inside along the edge of the crown of the hat. Fold the folds and pierce them with pins. Cut off the excess.
- Using wide stitches, sew the proclamation to the hat. The result should be a voluminous workpiece.
- Place the brown top of the cap on the resulting light-colored blank, aligning its center with the center of the circle and secure along the edges with pins.
- Turn the hat over and attach the material to the workpiece from the wrong side with pins (in even steps of 4-5 cm). The material should bend around the edges of the hat with a margin of 2-3 cm.
- Sew the fabric to the hat in a circle using an over-the-edge seam.
- Place the hat on the previously made lower part, secure the fabric in a circle with pins and sew the lower part of the hat with a hidden seam.
- Make small notches on the fabric inside the hole for the head to finish the inner edge, then fold the fabric and secure it along the entire length with pins. Sew the fabric to the braid using a blind stitch.
Advice! If the cap turns out to be too large, you can line it from the inside with a strip of padding polyester of the required width before processing the inner edge.
