The mushroom costume consists of two parts:

  • "leg". As a rule, the stem of the mushroom is white, so the main clothing should be the same;
  • headdress - mushroom cap. The detail on which you need to concentrate maximum of your efforts. It is the appearance of the hat that determines how successful the costume will be.

The most interesting image will come from the fly agaric fungus. Bright and unusual, your baby will definitely like it.

The main part of the costume is the hat, but other details should be thought out. Of course, you can use the child’s regular clothes, choosing them according to color. Or you can spend a couple of hours and sew harem pants. Moreover, it is not as difficult as it might seem.

For the pants you will need:

  • a piece of white and a little green fabric;
  • elastic band;
  • suspenders (brown or white).

Procedure:

  • Cut out pieces from white fabric according to the pattern, adding seam allowance;
  • process the edge;
  • connect the parts;
  • cut out “grass” from green fabric, sew the trousers along the bottom edge (can be secured with a glue gun);
  • gather the bottom and waistband of the pants with an elastic band.

Since the elastic will not be enough to hold the pants in place, you will need suspenders. They can also be decorated with leaves.

Any white clothing is suitable as a top: T-shirt, loose shirt, T-shirt (for girls).

The costume can be complemented with a short white cape that imitates the “skirt” of a fly agaric.

Mushroom cap: paper, fabric

There are two ways to make a hat: from fabric and from cardboard.

The fastest and easiest is made from cardboard. It is suitable for those who have neither the time nor the desire to make a fabric hat.

To work you will need:

  • thick cardboard;
  • paints;
  • elastic band;
  • glue, scissors.

  • draw a circle on cardboard with a diameter of 40 cm;
  • on the circle, select a section ¼ of the circle;
  • cut out;
  • glue the sections together so that you get a cap similar to a Vietnamese one;
  • color it like a fly agaric;
  • when the paint dries, glue the rubber band (you can use strings).

A fabric hat is a little more difficult to work with, but it also looks better.

To work you will need:

  • an old felt or straw hat;
  • padding polyester;
  • fabric (red and white);
  • glue gun

Procedure:

  • form a hemisphere on top of the padding polyester hat;
  • cover with red cloth, securing the edge with a gun (can be sewn on);
  • when the glue has dried, sew a strip of white fabric along the edge (the width of the strip is the same as the brim of a hat with an increase of 3-5 cm);
  • Gather the bottom with an elastic band and distribute the folds evenly. This part should imitate the plates on the inside of the fly agaric;
  • Cut out circles from white fabric or paper and stick on them.

Circles can be cut from masking tape.

The headdress can be complemented by attaching a leaf (it can be cut out of fabric or cardboard).

Russula costume

The stem of the russula, like the fly agaric, is white, so you can also sew white trousers. But there are also alternative options:

  • green shorts and white jacket. Wide shorts made of emerald green velvet will look especially impressive;
  • for girls, you can sew a long white tulle skirt, decorating the hem with leaves or a bug;
  • another option for girls: a fluffy short circle skirt to match the color of the hat (red and white for the fly agaric);
  • just make an apron with fabric appliqué (grass, fungus).

Headdress

The russula cap can be made in the same way as the fly agaric cap, only choose a fabric of lemon yellow or pink color.

And if you have a sewing machine at hand, you can make a beret hat.

To work you will need:

  • fabric (yellow or pink and white);
  • wire;
  • elastic band.

Procedure:

  • cut a circle with a radius of 23 cm from colored fabric;
  • remove a segment from the circle (about 10 cm from the circle);
  • sew the cut points together to form a cone;
  • cut a strip of white fabric 15 cm wide, about 140 cm long (equal to the circumference of the hat);
  • sew the white part to the main part of the beret;
  • Make a circle out of wire, place it inside the cap so that it holds the outer edge of the brim;
  • Gather the inside of the beret base with an elastic band.

The Russula costume is ready!

The main secret to the success of a carnival costume is attention to detail.It is enough to add a couple of little things, and attention to the “mushroom” will be guaranteed from both children and adults.

So, you can put a charming ladybug on the mushroom cap, which can be easily made from pieces of fabric.
