Which hook to choose

- If you chose thick yarn, say 200 meters per 100 g, then it will do hook 3.5 mm.

Top part
Work should be done from the top of the sock, made using a ribbed pattern - elastic. The diagram for its implementation is shown in the picture. You need to start with a number of air loops - their number is determined by the length you want to get.
For this example, their number was 34.
Then comes the turn of single crochets in the back half of each loop.
The number of rows is determined by the diameter of the ankle and ranges from 32–36. After this, the top and bottom edges of the knitting are closed together with connecting loops.
Heel
Next the heel is knitted. To do this, the resulting circle of loops is divided in half. On the lower half, create a rectangle from simple stitches in both threads of each loop.The height of this part should be equal to ½ the width.
Then the heel begins to narrow. Each next row should have 6 stitches less than the previous one. Thus, the rectangle is reduced to zero.
Foot
Then comes the foot. It is knitted in a circle made from half the circumference of the elastic and the side parts of the heel. The loops are gradually decreasing - 2 in each row. Reduce until the diameter of the knitted part begins to correspond to the size of the foot. After this, they stop decreasing the loops and knit straight, even rows to the beginning of the toe.
Now the narrowing occurs again - the decrease in loops in each row should be equal to 4. The process continues until the circle is reduced to one point.
Important! The decrease in loops should not be done in a random place, but exactly one loop above the other. Typically, such “descending” lines are made on the sides of the product.
Men's half-stack socks

Toe
You should start from the toe. In this example, it is made in rich blue. You should start in a circle from the center with 7 air loops. Then half double crochets are used. Following pattern 1, continue knitting until you reach a diameter that matches your size.
Foot
After the toe, you need to move on to creating the foot. In our case, it is made of blue yarn.
This part of the sock is knitted in simple half-stitches in the round until the length when it is necessary to begin adding loops to widen the ankle. This is approximately 20–22 cm. Then add 4 loops per row, before and after the middle loops.In total, for men's socks you will need 6-7 such rows.
Heel
After this, it’s the heel’s turn. In the picture, this part of the product is made in yellow. It can be knitted according to the pattern with 2 single crochets. Approximately 19–21 rows will be required.
Top
After this, only the upper part of the sock remains. It is performed in simple half-columns in a circle, starting from the top of the heel. When to stop is up to you to decide. It depends on how long the product you need.
Openwork socks
The openwork option will come in handy in the summer. EIt is usually made from finer synthetic or cotton yarn.
Important! It is recommended to choose a tighter knit for the toe and heel of the product. After all, it is these parts of the item that bear the heaviest load when worn.
This model begins to be knitted from the toe. In the example for this part, double crochets were used with a decrease of 6 loops per row. But you can use another type of pattern - single crochets or even half crochets.
