how to clean a jacket collarThe easiest way is to take the item to the dry cleaner. But this is not always convenient: business trips, another city, lack of a trusted location and a high price for the work. In addition, you cannot be sure of the quality of the result. Another option is to wash the jacket yourself. Even if there is no stripe on the product prohibiting this, washing a jacket is a dangerous undertaking: the fabric may deteriorate and the product may become deformed.

Cleaning methods at home

In situations where the product remains clean, but only the collar is dirty, try cleaning it up yourself.

Vinegar

To prepare the solution you will need water and vinegar. Dilute them in any container in a 1:1 ratio, then mix thoroughly. The vinegar can be heated. Dampen a soft towel or sponge in the resulting solution and thoroughly wipe the dirty areas. To get rid of the unpleasant smell of vinegar, take your jacket outside or onto the balcony and let it air out.

IMPORTANT keep the proportions correctly. If you overdo it with vinegar, you won’t be able to get rid of the smell and the product will lose its original color.

Soap

Dilute dishwashing detergent and water in any container. Keep the proportions 1:3. Apply the resulting foam to the collar and rub with a towel or sponge. At the end of the procedure, remove any remaining solution on the fabric with water.

IMPORTANT Carefully remove any remaining product so that no soapy streaks remain on the fabric.

Salt

Take 3 teaspoons of ammonia and 1 teaspoon of table salt. Mix them in any container. Soak a cotton pad or small cloth in the resulting solution, then wring it out and wipe the dirty areas with it.
