A nightgown is considered one of the most common types of sleepwear. In the past, until the middle of the 20th century, all residents of Europe and Russia slept in shirts. Moreover it was universal: for men, women and children. Subsequently, the shirt lost its popularity and preference was given to pajamas.
Why was authority lost?
Despite the fact that the production of nightgowns in the Soviet Union ended en masse in the 70s of the last century, they did not stop producing them completely. The proletariat pointed out that such a piece of clothing betrays the pampered bourgeoisie. Therefore, citizens tried in every possible way to refuse shirts.
By the end of the 20th century, the nightgown began to be considered an exclusively feminine item of clothing. The statement is incorrect, since films and books made not so long ago indicate the opposite.
Pajamas have firmly replaced the nightgown in bedrooms. Moreover, this happened categorically among men. Trying to prove their masculinity in everything, they completely refuse to wear a shirt to sleep at night.
What kind of shirt should it be?
Nightwear is supposed to be loose, moderately long, preferably without a collar or cuffs. The main thing is that she is made of soft and pleasant fabric. Do not prick, rub or scratch; the feeling should be weightless, as if you were wearing nothing.
Medical science clearly prescribes the features of nightwear for sleep and rest:
- The shirt is selected strictly according to size, does not restrict movement and is not tight.
- Only natural fabrics and no synthetics.
- Lack of decorative elements, including beads, lace and other stripes.
The simplest option, made from soft cotton without any embellishments, will be ideal. In such clothes the skin “breathes”, the normal rest of the body at night is not disrupted. Experts advise wearing clothes without underwear to ensure good sleep.
Moreover, doctors recommend wearing a shirt for men as well.
Why is a shirt better than pajamas?
The difference is obvious. Whatever pajamas are pleasant to the body, made from natural fabrics and very beautiful, they still has a number of disadvantages.
- Even a loose elastic band on pants or shorts puts pressure on the organs of the abdominal cavity, gastrointestinal tract and reproductive system. The result is stagnant processes and the development of infections.
- The fitted silhouette restricts movement, sending tactile impulses to the brain. Night rest will be less complete.
- Pajamas are worn with underwear, and it involves covering the genitals with fabric. This is undesirable, as it contributes to the development of infectious diseases.
The situation is doubly unpleasant, when pajamas are made from synthetic materials. In this case, the skin does not breathe and gets unpleasant sensations that disturb your sleep.Refuse such products, even if they are very beautiful.
It's a big mistake to go to bed in the underwear you've been wearing all day. Especially if they are made of synthetics. The greenhouse effect and the remains of natural excretions lead to the development of an ideal environment for the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms. As a result - long queues to see doctors and health problems both men and women.
A nightgown is the most preferred type of sleepwear. It is free, does not restrict movement and allows all organs to rest together with the person. There is no squeezing, unnecessary tactile impulses or blocking of the free “breathing” of the skin.
