The Cannes Film Festival is nothing more than an annual vanity fair. Popular actors and show business stars dress up in their best evening dresses, complementing them with fabulously expensive jewelry, and go out onto the red carpet so that the photographers present can capture them from a good angle. This is another way to get on the covers of magazines and online publications. In recent years, many famous people have decided to shock the public with their outfits, appearing on the red carpet in provocative or too revealing looks.
The dress that deserved a fine
At the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, undoubtedly, one of the most shocking dresses was the dress of 29-year-old Vietnamese model and artist Ngoc Trinh.
A sort of bodysuit with two floor-length stripes of translucent fabric instead of a skirt, located in the front and back. The girl's dress completely exposed her back, legs and partially her chest. Needless to say, the outfit shocked the audience. Especially after those present realized that there was nothing else under the dress.
Important! Many European viewers were pleased with the release of Miss Trinh. Men's gazes were constantly drawn to the sexy outfit that hugged the girl like a glove.
But the dress did not go unnoticed in the model’s home country. The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam said that this is an inappropriate appearance for a citizen of their country. 60-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Tien noted that such attire of the model outraged and shocked the Vietnamese public.
Who came out in a scandalous dress
In Europe, most likely the appearance of any actress or model in such a dress would have happened without a scandal. The paparazzi would take pictures, and magazines would publish “naked” photos of the star. But that would be the end of it. But Vietnam is a rather conservative country, where very strict views still reign. Girls here should look modest and not show off their charms.
Ngoc Trinh decided to break the rules learned from childhood. Either she thought that if the festival took place in Europe, no one would notice anything. Perhaps she deliberately shocked the audience. The girl's motives are not yet clear.
Nevertheless, The country's leadership ordered an investigation on this matter to determine whether the Vietnamese national has violated existing laws. And it doesn’t matter that at the time of the “violation” the girl was many hundreds of kilometers from her homeland.
Why did the dress lead to a fine?
In Vietnam, not a single girl, except a representative of the oldest profession, will go out in public in such a “dress”.
Important! Too bare and indecently exposed parts of the body, demonstrated in a public place, contradict all the rules and foundations that the Vietnamese carefully protect and honor.
In this country, girls are expected to have culture, modesty and chastity. A Ngoc Trinh's dress cannot be called chaste. Not only did it reveal the artist’s legs and back in slits, but the translucent fabric from which the bodysuit was made left no chance for imagination.
Dress fine
As mentioned above, an investigation was carried out in Vietnam.
The Minister of Culture noted that the appearance of a girl at such a high-profile event as the Cannes Film Festival infringes on rights and dignity, as well as insults and discredits the image of the country and its citizens as a whole.
The models were issued a fine, but the amount was not disclosed.
It should be noted that the minister’s indignation is justified by law.
Important! There is a law against public nudity in Vietnam. In accordance with it, girls do not have the right to undress in a public place more than what is permitted by the country's legislation.
The model clearly violated this law, even though it was located on the Cote d'Azur. The girl herself has not yet reacted to the situation.
