Since time immemorial, women have decorated their outfits in different ways. Modern ladies also strive to add a touch of unusualness to their everyday look. One way is to tie a scarf, scarf, or stole in a special way, wrapping it around your neck or draping it over your shoulders. This is most interesting with a special device called a magic button.
This item appeared in the wardrobe of fashionistas not so long ago, however, with its help, scarves confidently hold primacy among clothing decorative items.
Magic scarf button - what is it?
A miracle button is a device that, by connecting both ends of a scarf, fixes them in different variations. It is a wooden, metal or plastic base with two enlarged holes. The buckle has different shapes: oval, square, rectangle, triangle, circle, heart, rhombus, trapezoid, butterfly.

Choosing this simple accessory, remember some rules:
- glossy buttons are selected for satin and thin fabrics, matte for the rest;
- a plain scarf will look good in the presence of a clear geometric buckle pattern; with it you can wear a scarf with contrasting geometric padding;
- animal prints, small or fancy painting, imitation of painting on fabrics require plain buttons;

How to use
There are many ways to tie a scarf using a miracle button, but there are actually only two patterns:
- The two ends of the scarf are alternately passed through the holes in the chosen direction.
- One of the tips is passed alternately through both holes. In this case, the scarf forms a loop into which the other tip is inserted.
In both methods, the ends are passed either in the same direction, next to each other, or in opposite directions, intersecting at the junction.
Any other methods of attaching a scarf using a magic button will only be variations of the first or second method described.
Schemes for using miracle buttons for thin scarves
There are several original solutions that will help you look stylish using a minimum of accessories.
One of the methods:
- We form a fold from the scarf, which fits loosely around the neck.
- On the other side, grab the fold a little higher.
- This creates a slight asymmetry, which is interesting in itself.
- We thread both edges together into the button holes one by one, as if making a stitch.
- Straighten the free end.
It turned out beautiful and original. The shoulders are covered with a stole, like a cape; the highlight of the image is the light drapery and “petal” of fabric. In addition to light scarves, this method is also used for denser fabrics.
The second method is only for thin material:
- The scarf rests loosely on the shoulders, with the ends aligned to the same length.
- The fold is grabbed from the inside and threaded through both ends of the button.
- Exactly the same manipulations are done with the fabric on the second side, only in the other direction, towards each other.
The result was an imitation blouse.
Third mounting method completely repeats the second one with the difference that all actions are performed from the front side. The result is a flower with two petals near the buckle, which will hold the light fabric on the shoulders during windy weather.
This method is also suitable for working with denser materials. The result is a bright, stylish “rose” on outerwear for a time when there are no more flowers on the streets.
Another scheme, the result of which will appeal to any fashionista:
- from the edge of the scarf in the chest area they retreat approximately 10 cm (the distance between the open thumb and index finger) to one side and grab the fold;
- the fabric is pulled into the nearest hole of the button, straightening the formed supply of material;
- work in the same way with the second side of the scarf;
- align and correct the resulting air petals.
For thick, voluminous scarves
In this case, the magic button should be large, with appropriate holes. For very bulky fabrics or knitwear, even a belt buckle is suitable.
Perform the following manipulations:
- Wrap a scarf or scarf around your neck. Depending on the length - once or twice.
- Pass the ends of the scarf through the holes in opposite directions.
- Straighten the formed folds.
- Adjust the length and straighten the ends.
There is another option:
- Place the scarf (or scarf) over your shoulders and around your neck.
- Place one tip through the holes of the magic button.
- Pass the other end perpendicular to the first through the loop formed by the scarf at the junction.
- Throw it over your shoulder.
- Smooth out any wrinkles formed.
For large pareo scarves
In the case of beach scarves, you can create a skirt, cape, top or dress.
To get a new original product, use these tips:
- wrap the pareo around the figure;
- connect both ends;
- insert them alternately into both holes of the button;
- tighten the resulting product in the neckline area;
- Tie two loose straps around your neck on the back.
Important! You can also thread the ends of the beach scarf not in one direction, but in different directions, the essence will remain the same, but the style of the resulting dress will change slightly.
According to this scheme, the pareo very easily turns into a skirt. Only the product is tightened around the waist or slightly below, and the buckle is placed on the side. At this point, a cut will be made that opens the leg from the highest point of the thigh.
