Swan, duck, goose or eider down are used as filling for a down jacket. The first option is the most expensive, and duck down is more common (and products made from it are of high quality).

You can understand that the fluff is good only if you thoroughly study the label. You should pay attention to such an indicator as fill power. Ideally, it should be equal to 500-800 units.

Kinds

The choice of down jackets in modern stores is huge. Each person will be able to find a model that will fully satisfy his needs.For example, depending on the cut, the following options are distinguished:

• slim - tight-fitting to the body, such a down jacket is only comfortable in the demi-season format;
• fit-regular - a slightly loose fit, in which the jacket exactly matches the selected size;
• relaxed - a loose cut that looks slightly baggy, but does not restrict movement at all.

The length may also vary. The shortest option is mid-thigh, which is best combined with insulated trousers. But the most suitable length for a winter down jacket is knee-length and below.
