How to easily clean a greasy down jacket collar without washing

When wearing a down jacket, the places that most often come into contact with the skin get dirty the fastest. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that the collar is sometimes the dirtiest part of this clothing, even if the down jacket as a whole is still clean and you don’t want to wash it at all.

It is clear that washing can ruin the item, and the filler will especially suffer. To do everything correctly and preserve the appearance of the down jacket, you have to remember all the rules for washing such delicate clothes. However, there is one way that will help you restore the cleanliness of the collar without subjecting the entire down jacket to washing in the machine drum. Thus, you do not risk spoiling the insulation at all, but you will also return the product to its clean appearance.

Cleaning the collar of a down jacket quickly and easily

In fact, when I found out about this life hack, I was a little surprised, because for this you need to use quite unexpected products - dishwashing detergent and micellar water (facial cleansing liquid).I definitely wouldn’t have thought of this on my own.

So, first you need to prepare a solution, which, in fact, will help in such a complex event:

  • 0.5 tsp. dishwashing detergent;
  • 100 ml micellar.

Mix all this very thoroughly until a stable foam forms.

Next, the resulting mixture needs to be applied to the dirty collar of the down jacket - it is better to do this with a small brush, a toothbrush is ideal (you probably have one somewhere). Then we rinse everything very well with water, so as not to end up with another problem - soap stains. Now all that remains is to dry the collar, and it will be as good as new.

By the way, I read on the Internet that many people have been using this method of cleaning for a long time, and it is really effective. Someone even tried to tidy up the collar simply with micellar water, but this did not give any result - it was also a problem with the detergent. Therefore, try, experiment and enjoy the result!
