The history of the origin of the sundress in Russia
A sundress is a traditional Russian outfit that appeared many years ago. The first mention of it can be found in the Nikon Chronicle from 1376.
In the 14th century, not only women, but also men began to wear it. Even the Moscow princes and governors considered the sundress the best clothing.

Russian sundress - national clothing
Wealthy ladies and poor peasant women always wore traditional Russian costume. It was divided into festive and everyday. The wedding outfit especially stood out.

Only red sundresses were sewn for the bride; for everyday wear, they were usually dark blue or green.

Differences between sundresses and dresses
