But you shouldn’t stop, you need to be patient and the result will not keep you waiting.

What you need for knitting

To knit a scarf on a knitting machine you will need the following.

• Single font knitting machine.
• Single-needle decker (can be replaced with a needle for transferring loops).
• 1 skein of yarn in two colors (in the description - first and second), weighing 50 g, with a thread length of 200 m.

The description below uses a thread made from 40% merino wool, 40% polyacrylic and 20% cashmere. If desired, you can choose any other yarn.

IMPORTANT! Hand knitting yarn is not suitable for machine knitting, since it is very difficult to guess the thickness of the thread and set the device correctly.

Neglecting this rule can lead to increased noise during operation and, over time, to breakdown of the device.

How to knit a scarf on a knitting machine

To knit a men's scarf, you need to follow the proposed description.

Before starting production of the product, it is necessary to carry out a small test sample. It is made from materials that will be used in production. After knitting, the sample is removed and carefully laid out. Then take a ruler and count how many rows and loops will be located per 10 cm. The result obtained will be needed to count the loops for the initial set.

Description of knitting

• We start work with a set of loops. Take a white thread and cast on 36 loops. To create a 2x1 “false elastic” pattern in the back non-working position of the needle, the first 2 needles are wrapped with thread, the third is skipped.
• Necessary choose knitting density. In our case it will be 4.5. Then move the carriage to the right.
• We knit 30 rows with white thread, then change it to coffee thread. When cutting the thread, you must leave a short tip. From the side of the carriage we move 8 needles to the front non-working position. Next we wind the end of the thread onto the needles, alternating the thread above and below the needle.
• The tip of the coffee thread is wrapped around the first needle and threaded into the carriage.
• The carriage is then shifted in the direction from right to left. We complete the work in the same way as we changed the thread. This method not only saves time, but also simplifies the process of producing a knitted product.

Note! In order for the ends of the finished product to stop curling, they must be steamed with an iron.

Color replacement scheme

When the following indicators appear on the knitting machine counter, we alternately change the yarn.

• The first 30 rows are the first color.
• 31 to 40 - second.
• 41 to 70 - first.
• 71 to 86 - second.
• 87 to 390 - the first.
• 391 to 406 - the second.
• 407 to 436 - the first.
• 437 to 446 - the second.
• 447 to 476 - the first.
• At 477 rub. close the loops in any comfortable way.
