Craftsmen love to knit things that do not require sewing. I knit a blouse and don’t worry about the seams, whether they will turn out smooth or whether there will be waves, puffs and other defects. This is especially bad for a child’s blouse, where small loops immediately catch your eye.
In this case, raglan is simply irreplaceable, and the product comes out faster than wasting time on sewing, ironing seams and other little things. The most beautiful blouses for children are knitted blouses, and who else but a mother or grandmother will give a child such a cool new thing. But the recipes for these new things can be seen later in the article. Together with diagrams and manufacturing stages, it will be simple and clear.
Yarn and knitting needles
A children's raglan sweater requires children's yarn. In any case, these are non-thorny products. Also, special children's yarn is very warm and has hypoallergenic properties. This fiber is very soft and very pleasant to the touch, even if you try it on. The thickness of the thread can vary and here you should rely on your own preferences.
If you want to get a very voluminous product, then thicken the fiber or knit several threads. A light and openwork blouse is the thinnest fiber for knitting. The color of the yarn does not require restrictions. You can use dark shades and dilute them with cheerful appliqués or lace. The brightest colors - kids love them very much.
The choice of knitting needles depends on the size and model. The size is selected depending on the thickness of the thread. The correct knitting needle size is usually printed on the yarn instructions - this is the manufacturer's recommended size. For raglan, circular knitting needles are most often used, but you can also work with long stockinette knitting needles. Someone even got used to knitting such a large product on three long knitting needles.
Sample
When knitting, a pattern is a small square or even a rectangle, according to which the knitter counts the stitches. A ruler is applied to the row horizontally and the number of loops in 10 cm is counted. This will be the density of the pattern and it is indicated in loops per 10 cm. Vertical and also 10 cm and here is often designated as rows. For example, 10 cm and so many rows there. Thanks to the density, you can analyze how many loops there should be in which place.
In raglan, when knitting from top to bottom, several sizes are determined:
- neck (along the circumference of the neck with additives for a loose fit according to the model);
- length of the product (calculated by the length of the knitting needle plus elastic for the blouse and additional extension);
- the length of the sleeve;
- width of the elastic band (around the circumference of the hips).
It is better to draw a small raglan pattern and mark the measurements first in cm, and then convert them to loops. On the same sheet you can sign how many and how to add loops so that it is very smooth.
Raglan with arans for girls with knitting needles on top
A stunning and quite colorful pattern of aran sweaters is knitted at the top. The model is intended for a child 1-2 years old with a detailed description.
To work you will need:
- children's yarn 5 skeins of 50 g each, red;
- knitting needles number 3 (circular and additional);
- additional knitting needles for aran knitting.
Gate
We cast on 33 loops and knit a 1*1 elastic band exactly 6 rows.
In the last row you need to add the missing loops.
Raglan
For the sleeves, braids were used in the center and stockinette stitch on the sides. On each side there are 5 front loops, a pigtail according to the given pattern for each sleeve. For raglan seams, only 16 loops are needed (4 for each of the 4). For it, use a braid of 4 loops in the center, and there will be yarn over loops on the sides (to expand the product).
The back shelf is a continuous stockinette stitch. The anterior one contains aranas. For them, in the center of the canvas, this diagram will be useful.
Aran rapport is 20 loops, there are two purl loops on the sides, then three knit loops, one purl braid number two from the braid pattern (of 6 loops). Again one purl stitch and a stockinette stitch of 10 stitches. Here is a frame around the aran.
Raglan will not immediately be able to accommodate all these patterns, so with the addition of loops, we gradually add a pattern according to the presented picture. As a result, then simply facial loops in the canvases begin to be added. The length of the raglan is 30 rows. You can change it at your discretion.
Front and back
Knit the front and back in one continuous cylinder. In the meantime, the sleeves will wait on additional knitting needles. Knit the required length (in this model it is 50 rows) and switch to a 1*1 elastic band. Work 6 rows of ribbing and cast off the rows.
Important! The big secret to making an elastic band elastic is to close the loops directly on it. The last row is done not with yarn, but with elastic thread. Just don’t tighten this elastic thread too tightly.
Sleeves
The sleeves are also knitted in the round, but unlike the back and front, they will need to be slightly reduced. To do this, in every 6th row you will need to close two loops. It is better to knit both loops from the inside of the sleeve. Knit to the required length (in this model it is 45 rows from the raglan) and switch to 1*1 elastic. Make 6 rows and bind off the loops. Knit the second sleeve in the same way.
The product is ready and you can decorate it with a small applique or decorative button.
Raglan knitted sweater for boy
The cutest model for a boy. The simplest and most accessible patterns were used. Each pattern has a pattern. Even a beginner can handle knitting. Therefore, we put circular knitting needles in our hands and begin the first set.
To work you will need:
- children's yarn 250-300 g;
- knitting needles number 3.
Gate
For size 68 you will need to make a cast-on for the neck of 60 stitches.
Use 1*1 rib to complete 10 rows and make small increments in the last row. Next, mark the raglan loops with markers.
Raglan
Immediately begin after the neckline by adding at the four marked points for the raglan. At the same time, a different pattern is knitted for each part:
- for the sleeve, garter stitch, braid pattern and garter stitch again;
- for the front front, 24 stitches in the middle in garter stitch, and on the sides in stockinette stitch;
- For the back, the stitch is completely stockinette.
The length of the raglan is 25 rows.
Front and back
Knit front and back whole, in the round. Without changing the pattern of the canvas. You need to knit 60 rows down.Then switch to elastic bands. Again 1*1 and again 10 rows, bind off the loops.
Sleeves
Do not change the fabric pattern and knit the sleeves in the round as well. Knit to a length of 50 rows and go to the elastic band - 10 rows with an elastic band 1*1. To decrease stitches, use the last 20 rows. Decrease 2 stitches in every fifth stitch. Do the same with the second sleeve. Close the loops and the product is ready.
You can knit a small hat with a pompom from the leftover threads and use it to decorate a sweater.
Very beautiful products will not take much time. Therefore, it is worth knitting your child the best model that will warm his body and soul. Let your baby feel from an early age how much you love him.
