Oversized sweater with voluminous pattern on the sleeves
Necessary materials:
- Fluffy yarn (75 m/25 g) – 350 g;
- Yarn with lurex (85m/50g) – 225 g;
- Straight and circular knitting needles No. 6;
- The size of the finished product is 38–40.
Attention! The entire product must be knitted with two threads at once.
Back
Cast on 79 stitches. Knit the next 4 rows according to the following pattern: 3 LP, 73 loops, alternating 1 LP and 1 IP, 3 LP. In the interval of 73 loops, replace the LP and IP according to the figure.
Then, at this interval of loops, continue knitting with the next pattern.
LR: 1 IP, 1 double crochet, slipped as an IP - alternate to the end of the row, complete the IP.
IR: 1 RL, double crochet and the next one after it, knitted together like IR, alternate to the end of the row, end it with 1 RL.
Having knitted another 20 rows, continue knitting, starting and ending row 1 CP, and on the remaining 77 loops knit the pattern described above.
When the height of the canvas reaches 14 cm, begin designing the side bevels. To do this, close 2 loops on each side once. Then cast off 2 stitches twice at intervals of 16 rows.
Also, in each row, perform decreases according to the following pattern (option 1).
Right side of the back: 1 CP, 3 loops according to the pattern, 3 loops knitted together as 1 LP.
Left side of the back: knit according to the pattern until the outermost 7 loops remain. Of these: remove 1 loop as an LP, knit 2 LP together, pull the resulting loop through the one that was removed, 3 loops according to the pattern, 1 CP.
After all the decreases, there should be 63 stitches left on the knitting needles.
When the height of the canvas reaches 38 cm, create armholes. To do this, cast off 2 stitches 2 times at intervals of 6 rows. Also perform decreases according to the following scheme (option 2).
Right side: 1 CP, 1 IP, 3 loops, knitted as 1 LP.
Left side: knit according to the pattern until 5 loops remain: slip 1 loop, knit the next 2 loops as one LP and pull through the removed one, 1 IP, 1 KP. After this, 47 loops will remain on the knitting needles.
At a total height of the product of 50.5 cm, close 15 loops located in the middle. Knit each side separately.
To smoothly round the neckline, decrease 2 loops 2 times with an interval of 4 rows. Also cut the loops according to scheme No. 1.
When the cutout height reaches 2.5, bind off all remaining stitches.
Before
Knit the front of the sweater in the same way as the back. Having knitted 46.5 cm, bind off 15 loops located in the middle of the row. Next, to round, cast off 2 loops twice at intervals of 6 rows, and also reduce loops according to pattern No. 1.
Sleeves
It is better to knit both sleeves at the same time. Cast on 39 stitches on the knitting needles for each sleeve, knit 20 cm, alternating 1 IP and 1 LP. The last row should be purl. In this row, select the middle 35 loops. Knit 2 loops from each of them. Then continue knitting according to the pattern.
Knit the fabric until it reaches 41.5 cm and begin decreasing to form the sleeve cap. Perform them on each side:
- 1 time 3 loops;
- 1 time 2 loops and 1 time 1 loop with a difference of 2 rows;
- Cast off 4 loops 4 times every 8 rows;
- After 4 rows from the last decrease, bind off 3 loops. After another row, close 3 loops;
- When the sleeve length reaches 60 cm, bind off the remaining loops.
Assembly
Sew seams at shoulders. Cast on the loops located around the neckline, there should be 70 of them. Knit 1 row of IP, knit the next 5 rows, alternating 1 IP and 1 LP. After this, close all the loops. Sew in the sleeves and sew the sides of the sweater.
