Skirt and business style: how to combine, optimal length, models, photos

Skirt and business style

If you're ready to ditch the trousers and jeans, then skirted outfits are easy, comfortable and surprisingly versatile, no matter the weather. Short skirts are nicer to wear in the summer, but leggings or tights will help ease the transition when the weather starts to turn bad. Long skirts can be worn all year round, paired with boots or sandals.

Fashion in 2023 will gravitate towards pleated styles, mini cuts and satin jacquards. Our future will feature preppy looks, romantic date night outfits, everything 90's inspired, and some Y2K influence.

If you're going to the office, build your look around a colorful pleated skirt, pairing it with a vest and a button-down sweater. Or pair a satin jacquard miniskirt with a romantic bustier or corset top. And for a modern twist, pair an A-line skirt with sneakers and a vintage sweatshirt or top.

With a graphic tee

Skirts can give a formal look, but adding a graphic tee automatically creates a casual aesthetic. Tuck it in and layer it with a blazer for a casual look, or tie it in a knot and complete the look with a pair of chunky boots. And don't be afraid to pair a graphic top with a patterned bottom.

Business style: skirt with blazer

The blazer is one of those items that never goes out of style, and 2023 is definitely not going to be the year of change. You can go classic by pairing it with a pencil skirt, or mix it up with a flowy mini or maxi and add a contrasting top. If an oversized look isn't your thing, add a belt to accentuate your waist, as belts never go out of style, as rumor has it.

Monochromatic black

All-black ensembles are still appropriate during the warmer months, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Grab your favorite knee-high boots while it's still chilly, keep your regular slides and sandals ready for the upcoming season, and set the mood with solids.

Mix and match

In case you need a friendly reminder, there are no rules in fashion, which means “matching” is a style, not a necessity. So wear a plaid skirt with a tie-dye top to the office and pair polka dots with stripes. Mix and match colors if you like, but know that it's not necessary.

With buttons

An easy way to add structure to loose maxi skirt outfits is with a button-up. Tuck it into a high-waisted skirt, tie it in a knot, or add a belt to add definition and define your waist.

With socks

Skirts and socks or even tights go together. From classy to sexy, sophisticated to punk, and every style in between, whatever look you choose, you're sure to have a pair of socks to go with it.

In true 90s fashion

There's nothing more '90s fashion than a printed miniskirt and polo shirt, so break out whatever prints you have left in your wardrobe and dare to get a little nostalgic this spring. Don't forget to add knee-high boots or sandals, and if the temperatures are a little cool, a thick cardigan will be your best friend.

With a sweater

Speaking of cardigans, on a cool spring day or cool summer evening, it's worth wearing a sweater or sweatshirt as an outer layer, or at least keeping one on hand. This way, you don't have to sacrifice style for warmth.

Make your bow leather

If you don't already have a leather skirt in your capsule wardrobe, we highly recommend purchasing one for the coming seasons and beyond. It's one of those pieces that you can wear with just about anything, from a simple white tee to a ruffled blouse, and always look appropriate.

If when you think of statement pieces you think of jewelry or a ruffled blouse, it's time to reconsider. Your bottom can be a statement piece too, and there are many skirts that will do the job through color, cut and detailing.
