To sew a skirt you need:

• Thick fabric for the base. Select a color that matches the tulle in shade or vice versa, contrasting with it. It all depends on what you want to get as a result.For the base, 2 meters of fabric with a standard width of 1.4 meters will be enough.
• Fatin. But other transparent fabric can be used, but preferably one that holds its shape. The quantity depends on how full the skirt you want to get.

IMPORTANT: in order to correctly calculate the required amount, you should measure your waist circumference and multiply it by 4. Multiply the resulting number by the number of layers. As a result, we obtain the desired cut length. But the height depends on the length of the product.

• For the belt, choose a satin ribbon to match the fabric;
• Threads of the appropriate color and thickness;
• The zipper is the same color as the fabric on the petticoat;
• Sewing machine.

Option 1

Cut the ribbon to a length corresponding to the child’s waist circumference, leaving about 2 cm for the fastener. Cut strips of tulle 2 times longer than the required length of the product. The number of ribbons will determine the splendor. After this, tie each strip folded in half to the ribbon, passing a special knot.
After the required amount is attached, sew a button to one edge of the waistband and a loop to the second. Next to the button you can sew some decorative element, for example, a bow. He will be able to visually hide the button.

Cut out the required size rectangles. One side of which is the height of the skirt. The second side of the rectangle forms folds, thereby forming the pomp of the product.

ATTENTION: if you want the shape to sit beautifully on the figure, then you should make each next layer 1 cm longer than the previous one. That is, the shortest is the petticoat, and the longest is the outer layer of tulle.

Subsequence:

• Gather each skirt into pleats. Baste;
• Stepping back from the edge by 2 cm, stitch the basted skirts;
• Just above the straight stitch, place a basting stitch on the machine, using the free ends of which to then pull the fabric together. This will give the desired volume;
  

  IMPORTANT: the waist volume at the base must clearly correspond to the waist circumference. Whereas transparent layers must be 1 cm larger.

• Then stitch all the layers to the ribbon in the product for girls.• For an adult woman, stitch all the parts to the base with a zipper, which should already be ready by this point.

Tips and tricks

REFERENCE: ribbons made of transparent fabric must extend beyond the base by at least 3 cm on both sides.

If you want to fasten the edges of the transparent parts, then you should do this exclusively on the lower layers, while leaving the upper ones in their original form.
