The issue of choosing a skirt has never been as acute as in the case of uneven legs. If the latter have any imperfections, you can veil them with the help of a correctly selected style, length and color of the skirt. This article is not for slender young ladies, but for those who want to appear like that.
What does the choice depend on?
First of all, it depends on the parameters of the figure. Very influential:
- woman's height;
- presence or absence of a belly;
- “ears” on the hips – whether they exist or not;
- leg length;
- fullness of the knees;
- thickness of calves, ankles;
- hip volume.
And there are many more parameters. Most imperfect ladies, critically assessing their figure, will find flaws in themselves and look for different ways to solve the problem. Two women with almost identical figures may be unhappy with different things.
The most “slimming” models
The best would be a relatively narrow skirt without a belt or with a high waist, a length slightly above, slightly below or to the middle of the knee.
Pencil skirt
An absolute leader among women with imperfect figures. Black model with a semi-fitted cut, not very narrow at the hem and with a small vent at the back – an ideal candidate for your wardrobe. Such a skirt will hide the fullness in the hips and knees, making the figure taller and slimmer. A great addition is nude heels. Of course, with black tights you can wear shoes of the same color. Sandals - any color.
A pencil skirt with a vertical print would be a good choice. It doesn't have to be black, though. The drawing will do its job. Worth paying attention on moderately narrow skirts just below the knees with a high waist. But without any additional elements.
A straight model with an oblique figured vent in front and a yoke top will help make your hips slimmer and “narrow” your knees. A slight diagonal slope and contrasting details on the skirt create a slimming effect.
A large checkered model with lines of not very contrasting colors is a good solution. Length just below the knee cup, slightly tapered, high waist. Favorites can include not only red, but also blue and green. Of course, these colors are best combined with black, or maybe with a bit of white.
So-called “four-blade”, but with a slight “revolution in design”. Namely, the seams go down the middle of each thigh. With the help of this restructuring, the effect of stretching the silhouette is achieved. Vertical seam lines divide the figure into narrower longitudinal parts. If the four-blade was sewn in the classical way - seams on the sides, front and back, then such an effect would not be observed.
A black pencil skirt of the same cut with alternating leather and suede details will also help “create” this effect. For larger women, you can choose a more substantial length.
Denim skirt with a small slit in the front and buttons – a great solution for women of any age and build. And there is no need to be afraid of patch pockets in the front. But it’s better to choose a thin material, because thick denim “thickens” anyway. But it is not exactly.
Skirt with a small flare
This option can no longer be called a trapezoid, but neither can it be called a sun flare. The length of the skirt is knee-length, tight-fitting in the abdomen and waist, the style is “high”. Unobtrusive tails or large folds widen the hem and against this background the legs appear slimmer. This skirt looks good with a heel, especially if the length of the model is below the knees. If it’s higher, you can try on ballet flats. The style will perfectly hide fullness in the hips.
Trapezoid
Slimes a plump bottom, makes the area above and below the knees narrower. This skirt looks good with a waistAhom - real or false. And better flowing, but quite dense fabric. The presence of fringe, as in the photo, does not change the visual effect.
A lightweight top is desirable. And the hemline is recommended both straight and asymmetrical. In this case, the top layerAha can be either lower or higher than the main length of the skirt.
Summer version made of viscose or cotton with synthetics. The model should have a loose fit; due to the material, it fits well on the figure, and the slightly flared hem below the knees visually slims the legs. This can be worn with both low and high shoes.
With flounce at the hem
Moreover, a figured tail in combination with the right print, the right length and tailoring - this is an almost perfect skirt. For example, is this option not yours? The check is slimming, and artfully placed darts narrow the front and back, making the hips appear slimmer. Flared bottom - to make the knees look narrower. If they are full, then it is better, of course, to hide them.
A straight skirt with a small flounce at the bottom a la gode is a great solution. Let the hem end at the narrowest area below the knees. This makes your legs appear much thinner.
By the way, the above point is recommended for all women with full legs.
With vertical stripe
A successful trapezoid style will be enough. Semi-fitting silhouette and small, nondescript stripe – an ideal solution for summer or off-season. Can be worn with or without heels. The length is optional, but if you are not proud of your knees, then it is better to be a little lower than them.
A vertical print looks cool, for example,Ax or buttons in a row.
Upgrade Parts
There are elements that will successfully complement and enhance the slimming effect. These include:
- slanted pockets on the sides;
- seams in the center of the thigh;
- asymmetric shuttlecock;
- asymmetrical rearAX;
- asymmetrical hem length;
- thin vertical stripe;
- diagonal print;
- a row of buttons in the center;
- slot in front or behind;
- lacing or built-in strip along the entire length of one thigh.
In addition, you should take a closer look at matte, non-shiny fabric, flowing and poorly stretchable materials, as well as shoes with heels.
Let's look at some imperfections
Imperfect legs are a reason to hide them.But you don't need to do this under a hoodie or a baggy skirt style. A couple of recommendations:
- If your legs are O-shaped, choose a length that hits mid-calf or where the curvature ends. In principle, if you follow this rule, the style can be anything. But it is also worth taking into account growth and possible fullness.
- X-shaped legs are a reason to choose a model with a flared flounce or an asymmetrical godet style. But let the flounce start higher and the length of the skirt just below the knees.
- Very full legs and hips require a special approach. Here, the best choice, perhaps, is a wide flare from the waist and floor length. Or a small year or a multi-blade. A skirt with a waist looks greatAhom, vertical stripe. If your knees and calves are slender, try playing with the length of your skirt. In general, in this case it is recommended to emphasize the advantages as much as possible.
