Fashionable and very beautiful transforming gloves. Such models are loved not only by teenagers. There are a lot of adult models that are very comfortable. You don't need to take off your gloves to answer a phone call (the sensor doesn't pick up any fabric well), you just need to fold the top down. Or open something (wallet, lock). But we should not forget that the model actually turns out to be very attractive. We present a master class for a women's (children's) transformable glove (with a finger cap), knitted with knitting needles.
Necessary yarn, tools and knitting needles
Yarn for mitten gloves can be used of medium thickness, since the cap is often made in two threads, and therefore the product is very warm. This product will keep you warm in winter.
In progress stocking needles are more often used, they should only match the thickness of the thread. Additionally, such a model may require buttons and various decorative details.
When knitting with braids, use special knitting needles for making braids or just additional knitting needles for transferring stitches.
Product dimensions
Women's sizes for the product will practically not differ in any way from the regular glove model. These are typical three measurements:
- palm circle;
- length from the level of the wrist to the typical line of the tubercle of the thumb;
- length from the level of the wrist to the typical line of the beginning of the index finger.
An additional measure in such a model will be the length of the convertible top.
How to knit transformable gloves with knitting needles?
Knitting flip-top gloves is not that difficult. In fact, this is half of ordinary gloves and half of mittens. A master and even a beginner can easily handle such products. A small master class on charming knitted items will help them with this. Such models are always suitable for both children and adults.
Pink transformable gloves “cute animals” knitted
Very delicate patterns can be made with knitting needles. The animal's face adorns the convertible top of the transformer. In this model you will learn how to get a beautiful base and applique with openwork motifs without extra threads inside (on the wrong side).
For work use:
- yarn of a suitable color for the model plus threads for applique;
- knitting needles according to the thickness of the selected yarn;
- a button to secure the flap.
Main part
We start knitting the pattern with an elastic band, moving towards the fingers. First you need to make a small sample and calculate the knitting density for it. This is the content of loops and rows of 10 cm. This measure is necessary to determine the required size of the product.
Make the elastic from the elastic pattern 1*1. To do this, make an appropriate set of loops. Continue knitting in the round without changing the pattern.Knit to the wrist line and knit another similar part for a small bend.
Further after ribbing, perform a simple stockinette stitch knitting needles Again, knitting continues in circular rows. Without increasing or decreasing, knit to the line of the tubercle under the thumb.
Important! Do not knit the thumb yet, but insert a contrasting thread along its length.
Continue knitting in the round until the beginning of your index finger. Now divide the knitting into 4 parts. Start knitting each finger and add a few stitches between sets so as not to leave holes between the stitches of the sets. Don’t knit the fingers all the way through, just bind off the stitches..
It is better to use a special elastic technique for closing loops in a row.
Folding part
Make a set of hinges for the folding part. The length will be equal to a set of loops around the circumference of the palm. No additions or subtractions. It is better to knit the folding part with a double thread. The part starts with a 1*1 elastic band. Some craftsmen may not knit this element separately, but make half a set of loops from an already knitted product.
But if you are a beginner, you can do it separately, and then in the assembly simply sew on one edge with plain threads. Knit the required length and start decreasing stitches 2 cm before the end. Decrease 5 stitches in each row. It is better to decrease in a chaotic order so as not to form lines with decreases. In the last row, simply collect all the loops and pull them tighter. Then tie a knot and immediately hide the excess threads.
The convertible top will also require lugs. Knit them from a smaller set of stitches. Use as many loops as there are on one finger of the model. Knit 4 rows and start cutting stitches.Next, after 3 rows, close all the loops, pulling them into one. Sew the ears directly to the base of the convertible top.
Thumb
Pull the contrasting thread out of the thumb loops to create a hole. Pick up loops along the edge so that the fabric does not unravel and create holes. Knit a finger to the required length using circular rows and stockinette stitch. Closing the loops is similar to the other fingers of the hand.
All that remains is embroider the applique. For this model, a small black nose and antennae are used. From the top of the stockinette stitch, use a needle and black yarn along the stitch line of the stockinette stitch. This will create a pattern and the threads will not interfere inside.
Sew a button on the back and make a small loop along the top of the folding part. This way you can easily secure the part and it won’t interfere if it suddenly gets warmer outside.
These are such cute and charming products that you can make with your own hands. Therefore, you should not waste your time on something less worthwhile. Children will be delighted with these fashionable transforming gloves.
