Carpet embroidery is a popular technique that many needlewomen strive to master. However, for this you will need not only canvas and threads, but also a special needle. It can be purchased ready-made separately or in a set, or you can also make it yourself.
Functions and Features
The main thing that distinguishes this sewing device from others is the internal cavity through which the working thread passes. In addition, there is a voluminous and comfortable handle that allows you to quickly thread and pull it through the needle nose. Purchased tools are also equipped with a length adjustment function. To create a loop, a needle for carpet embroidery is always equipped with a hole at the end of the nose, through which the threads are pulled.
Important! Cheap needles very often have a certain defect in the form of sharp notches inside. They damage the floss and slow down the work process.
Refilling methods and operating rules
Threading a needle looks like this:
- a thin wire in the form of a hook is passed through the spout to the handle;
- the floss clings to it in such a way that it does not fly off during the pulling process;
- the thread is pulled out in a reverse motion;
- the tip is passed through the hole onto the spout.
Embroidering with this needle is quite easy. The main thing is that its cut faces in the direction of movement. If you start at the top and work your way down, the cut will always face the embroiderer. When the seam is fully turned, it will also be turned.
