Let's make a round model. The preparatory stage is described above. First, measurements are taken. Next, the necessary materials and tools are prepared.

You will need:

• a piece of fabric of the required length;
• threads to match the fabric;
• sewing machine;
• threads;
• regular needle;
• safety pins.

On a note! If you don't have a sewing machine, all seams can be done by hand.

Next, follow the instructions provided:

1. Lay the fabric out on a flat surface.
2. On four sides, measure and mark the table radius (diameter/2) + length allowances.
3. Draw a dot in the center with soap/chalk or attach a measuring tape.
4. Next, draw a circle by moving the measuring tape along the points.
5. Cut out the resulting circle, not forgetting the hem and seam allowances.
6. Sew the edges of the fabric with an overlocker to prevent fraying.
7. Next, you should measure the same distance from the edge for the hem.
8. Fold the edges of the tablecloth according to the intended measurements and secure with safety pins.
9. Check the evenness of the resulting circle.
10. Baste the hem.
11. Sew the hem using a machine.

Ready! All that remains is to wash the product, iron it and you can use it.

Advice! It is better to make a casual tablecloth of medium length or short.

We sew a festive tablecloth

We will make the holiday model square. It will hang from four edges, forming beautiful folds. And its main length will be short, so that you can sit comfortably at the table even in a ballgown.

Prepare a set of the same materials and tools.

For measurements you will need the diameter of the table + length of the product. Now cut out the square. You can also add a few centimeters in width or length to make a rectangle. In this case, the tablecloth will be longer on both sides, creating an interesting asymmetry.

Then you need to cut out the resulting square and repeat the steps described above.
