Is it true that fleece is made from plastic?
When the question arises of what synthetic fabrics are made from in Russia, many begin to have doubts, which ultimately lead to a complete distortion of the real state of affairs. This is exactly the case with fleece.
So what is the material? This is a fabric made from artificial fibers, in this case polyester, which have excellent user properties.
What about plastic bottles, which many consider a close “relative” of fleece sweatshirts? No, they are not relatives, except perhaps very distant ones, because they are produced at chemical industry enterprises.
So, plastic bottles are made from polyethylene telerephthalate (denoted as PET), and this is not even polyester by name. Simply put, fleece is an independent product, separate, with its own properties and application features.
How the material is actually produced
Real fleece is made from polyester fabric. This is an excellent raw material, which can be not only a product of oil refining, but also obtained from the processing of plastic secondary raw materials.
It is based on polyester fibers obtained from molten material using a special technology. Using a special knitting machine operating at high speed, the raw materials are processed into excellent material, which at this stage is not yet ready for practical use. He still has many types of processing to go through.
In the process of producing fleece and similar fabrics, almost the same equipment is used as in the production of natural fabrics, but taking into account the peculiarities of processing synthetic raw materials, which occurs exclusively when heated to a certain temperature.
As a result of the work of highly productive machines, a “pipe” is obtained at the first stages of the production process, which gradually turns into fabric suitable for further use. This product is distinguished by high quality, excellent design, and resistance to difficult operating conditions. The fabric does not fade in the sun and does not deteriorate after repeated washing in high-speed washing machines.
And the material also has hydrophobic properties. The fabric practically does not absorb water and, accordingly, does not get wet, which is not at all superfluous when wearing fleece clothing in the rain or in damp weather.

Many clothing manufacturers, world-famous companies, have long appreciated fleece and other similar synthetic fabrics. They make excellent items for sports and general use from it.
