Before you start sewing a velvet bag with your own hands, you need to decide on the parameters of the bag:
- Define the shape. There are different variations of bags - these are rectangular-shaped bags with drawstrings, round bags with drawstrings, or products with a voluminous solid bottom. The first option is the most common, the last is the most difficult to implement.
- Choose a color. To move away from stereotypes, you can choose a bright, rich color. For example, crimson will look original for a girl, dark green for a man. If the gift is intended for a child, orange, yellow or light green velvet will do.

How to make a velvet jewelry bag with your own hands
The scheme for creating a packaging bag is quite simple. Let's look at step-by-step instructions for creating the simplest, rectangular jewelry bag. To work, you will need velvet of the selected color, narrow braid and thread of the same color as the fabric. For decoration, we will take glue, a needle, silver packaging mesh, and pebbles. Sewing process:
- Lay out the velvet and cut out two rectangles of the same size. The parameters should be selected based on the characteristics of the gift.
- We make seams on three sides of the rectangle with the exception of one short edge. In this case, a distance of half a centimeter from the edge must be maintained along the entire perimeter. On the long sides we finish the seams at some distance from the edge to leave room for the drawstring. The distance depends on the size of the bag - from two to four centimeters.
- We fold the remaining material to the wrong side. We make two seams at a distance of half a centimeter from each other. Turn the bag inside out.
- Using a hook, thread the lace, ribbon or braid.
- Pour some glue onto the paper. Using a needle, place several glue dots on each side and fix pebbles on them, preferably of different sizes.
- Under the tightening, draw a neat strip of glue and place several dots. We cut out a small square from the mesh and glue it under the ties. When pulled together, it will bend beautifully. At this point the bag is ready.
