Wide beaded bracelets: weaving patterns

It is difficult to find a girl who, at a young age, would not experiment with beads, creating jewelry for dolls or friends. Over the years, some people lose the desire to tinker with small beads, while others become real craftswomen in the field of handmade, capable of creating jewelry that is worthy of the title “jewelry.”

Wide beaded bracelets: what are they?

For beginners who do not yet know how to handle such a fragile and small material as beads, it is best to start getting acquainted with it by working on wide bracelets. This accessory is perfect for everyday wear and will complement any outfit. The main thing is to choose a design and scheme in advance.

The key to making the bracelet beautiful and durable is the choice of quality materials. It is best to buy PRECIOSA brand beads for weaving or embroidery, which are produced in the Czech Republic. It is better not to use Chinese and Indian material for making jewelry, as it is not of good quality.Chinese beads are poorly painted, have different diameters and sizes of beads, and can break during operation.

Schemes, examples

As a basis for a future bracelet, a novice needlewoman can take the following weaving patterns and methods:

  1. Braids made of threads. Bracelets in the form of a braid, the basis of which is made up of threads of beads or bugles strung on a fishing line, look great.
  2. Tourniquets. A bracelet made of several strands connected by a wide plate clasp looks truly chic. The weaving technique will be easier to master for those who know how to work with floss.
  3. Under macrame. Reminiscent of the once popular macrame technique, the hand weaving method allows you to create bracelets with a variety of patterns and designs.
  4. "Twin." There are a large number of patterns that involve the use of beads and beads of various shapes and sizes in one product. The result is interesting jewelry that can be worn with both holiday and everyday outfits.

A large number of schemes can be found in special magazines and books. You can also visit websites on the Internet and YouTube channels of craftswomen who will tell and show how to properly handle beads and weave jewelry from them.

How to weave, how to read a pattern

To weave an original wide bracelet from beads, you can use both smooth and faceted beads (bicones). In our case, beads and bicone need to be selected in two different colors - blue and white. In addition to them, for the work you will need a thin thread and a strong fishing line. Any convenient mechanism can be used as a fastener.

The work process step by step:

  1. The bottom layer is made of bead mesh, the top layer is made of faceted beads.
  2. The first row begins by stringing white beads (2 pcs) onto a fishing line, then blue (1 pc) and so on until the desired length is reached. The last one in the row should be a blue bead.
  3. The second row is formed by returning the needle on which white beads are strung into 3 blue ones in the first. The row should repeat the first row according to the pattern. The blue bead serves as a link between the first and second, second and third, third and fourth, etc. in rows. This way you can get a mesh pattern.
  4. Bicones are put into operation after the mesh base is ready.
  5. A needle is taken out of the blue bead, a large bead is threaded onto it, and again inserted into the blue bead of the same row, and so on until the end of the row and the entire product.
  6. The final stage of work is the design of the fastener. The bracelet is ready.

Having learned to work with beads, you can create universal jewelry that can be worn “both at a feast and in the world.” Particularly successful works can be put up for sale or presented as a gift to friends.
