What is biscornu, types of biscornu
The original name came to us from France. It was there that cute little pillows first appeared, which French women presented to each other as souvenirs. Let's get to know biscorn in more detail - what it is, what types of products there are, how they differ:
- Classic. Krivulya is a pentagon, each corner is clearly distinguished thanks to a non-standard seam. Even though all the angles are different, the symmetry of the pillow is maintained. The product consists of two embroidered squares. Each square can be embroidered in a different pattern, or the sides can be made the same. Afterwards they are sewn together and the curve is stuffed with padding polyester.
- Five-blade. The most complex variety of biscornu, the pictures of which amaze with their beauty. It consists of fifteen square parts. The first five is the top side, the second is the bottom side. The remaining five pieces are faces. The finished product is finished along the edges with a needle back stitch. For embroidery of such biscornu mini-patterns are slightly different due to the number of elements. But in general terms they are similar to other options for decorating pillows.
- Zigugu. Biscornu zigugu has the smallest size among all crooks. Graceful, yet simple edges are formed by one square of fabric. To decorate the cube, beads, tassels, and beads are used.
- Pendybull. A triangular curve that, after filling, takes on the shape of a heart. For embroidery, plot drawings or ornaments are used.
- Pinkip. The simplest pillow to make. These are two squares of fabric sewn together. One side is decorated, the other remains empty. Suitable for storing needles and pins, decorated with a ribbon bow.
- Berlingo. A pyramid with four sides is sewn from a rectangular piece of fabric in accordance with a special technique.
Biscornu embroidery, patterns - small pincushions
Before you start sewing biscorn krivulka, you need to mark the outline and determine the required number of square parts. Then, in accordance with the diagram, embroider the pattern. We edge the product with a needle stitch backwards. In this case, the thread is folded several times. We cut out the squares, sew them together and you can start stuffing the products with cotton wool. To create a pillow you will need:
- Two beads or buttons. Color – green, diameter – five millimeters.
- Sintepon or cotton wool.
- Canvas.
- Embroidery needle.
- Round, large beads of red and green color.
- Strong thread for tie.
- The floss pattern is green and red.
Embroidery patterns for biscornu and needle beds - an interesting master class
First, on the canvas, in accordance with the diagram, we embroider two patterns from the middle using two threads of floss. Then we’ll start decorating the pillow using strong sewing thread and beads. Further algorithm of actions:
- After completing the embroidery, stitch the needle back with red threads along the perimeter of the design. This is necessary in order to assemble the curveball later. The number of stitches should be the same on all sides.
- We trim the edges of the canvas six millimeters from the seam on all sides.
- We wrap the edge of the undecorated square inward. Only the seam should be visible from the front. The canvas is easy to bend and can hold its shape well.
- We sew the parts of the pillow on the left with double red floss thread and hide the thread in the corner of the square that is not decorated.
- On the top square we find the middle. We lift the thread of the seam made using the needle back technique up and pull it out. This makes it possible to raise the thread of the same stitch on the bottom. We begin to sew the threads together in this way, lifting the stitches one by one. The canvas should not be involved.
- We reach the corner of the product, carefully turn the corner of the side decorated with beads, and sew it to the bottom. The first part of the pillow is sewn.
- Next, we continue to carefully sew the sides together. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the corner of the side falls exactly in the center of the lower square to form an isosceles figure.
- Sew the sides until only one edge remains unstitched. This will be the hole for filling the pad. You can use cotton wool, padding polyester, batting or other materials as filler.
- Gradually push the filler inside the product. Biscornu is a type of fluffed pillows, so you need to carefully distribute the padding polyester inside. To do this, it is best to use knitting needles, a pencil or a bamboo stick.
- When the biscorn is completely stuffed, we move on to further decorating the embroidery. You can make tassels along the edges or sew threads with beads at the ends. We use only strong sewing thread.
- We sew up the hole through which the pillow was filled. We cut off the end of the thread and hide it in the product.
- It turns out to be a voluminous, cute mini-ottoman; in order to make a real biscorn out of it, one element is missing - a tie in the center.
- We take a strong thread that matches the color of the bead that will be in the center, and a long needle.Fold the thread in half and thread it into the needle. We pierce the pad in the middle, then go back. There should be a loop of thread left at the bottom.
- We retreat from the first stitch so that a cross is formed. We pierce the curve again, pass the needle through the loop and tighten it.
- We put beads or beads on the needle and make a puncture again. On the other side we also put on a bead and go down again.
- We fasten the thread and hide the tail. The pillow is ready.
Biscornu embroidery looks original, and the non-standard shape and small size give it a cute, gift-like appearance. This is a great way for needlewomen to create their own unique collection of unique items.
