How to make an organizer for a locker in a kindergarten

  1. At the beginning of work, decide what color organizer and material you chose. The choice of fabric does not play a big role, but it is better to choose one that does not fray at the seams.
  2. To properly tailor an item, you need to know the dimensions of the cabinet, or more precisely, its door. We will show an example of how to sew pockets with a total size of 30 x 80 cm.
  3. Now make patterns for the parts: two bases measuring 30 x 80 cm, two pockets 40 x 20 cm and two 40 x 15 cm. Do not be tied to the number of pockets described here, it can be anything.
  4. When cutting out parts to size, do not forget to leave one centimeter for the seams. And in the cavities you need a gap to thread the elastic through, and it should be two centimeters. The next step is to sew the pockets for the elastic at the top. Insert the prepared elastic band into the already sewn pockets and pull it down to a size of 30 cm.
  5. Now sew the first pocket onto the bottom base and step back three centimeters from its bottom edge. Place the pocket face down and machine stitch. Turn it inside out so you have a hidden seam and sew around the sides.
  6. Take the second part of the base and sew it to the first, placing them on top of each other without bending them.Leave a little space at the bottom and top of the bases to create grooves into which you can then insert a wooden block or plastic to add rigidity and weight. At a distance of 3 centimeters, sew a guide for the frame with a regular stitch. At the bottom, exactly the same, but after two centimeters, make the same line. Select suitable plastic or wood for the frame and insert it into the slots.
  7. If you could not find a suitable material, then use ordinary thick cardboard. But be prepared for the fact that such a frame will not withstand many washes. After completing all the operations, remove the excess fabric and trim the edges with either bias tape or the same fabric.
  8. Cut four-centimeter strips and sew them on. The final touch will be the loops on which the entire structure will hang. They can be made not only from the same fabric, but also from various twines and strands.
  9. It’s not difficult to assign the purpose of each pocket; everything here is individual and depends on your needs. Typically, compartments are distributed as follows: For underwear and socks, for spare and change of underwear, for spare clothes, hats and gloves, and for dirty or wet items.

You can sew such an organizer not only for children, but also for adults. It is convenient to store all sorts of small hair items and combs. It can also be used in a hallway for brushes. Trust your imagination, and it will tell you in which direction you need to move. Make your child an original garden organizer so that there is only one of these. There is no need to pay a lot of money for branded items or custom tailoring. But the mother knows exactly what her baby will like and will delight him.

Such sachets with pockets not only separate things, but also help your baby get used to order. He will clearly know and understand that every thing should have its place. You can even sew it together; it is necessary to instill aesthetic thinking at a very early age. While working on pockets, you can simultaneously learn colors or animals, if they are present on the material you have chosen.
